War on the Sea

War on the Sea

German ships
Will there be any German ships?
Like U-Boats and such, example. The Monsun Gruppe.
On the side of Japanese of course.

Well, at least it sounds like they are planned. Having Bismarck and Tirpitz have a "go at it" against Yamato is one of my dream match ups. Though I am also hoping we get Arizona, there are quite a number of ships I'd want to pit her against.

I sure hope there will be an Atlantic Theater version of this game forthcoming.

Personally, there's nothing wrong with making a comprehensive game. I don't know why anyone would want to be restricted by theatre...especially in a technological golden age that was World War II.

From what has been said by the devs, this game seems to be focused around the Solomon Islands campaign, so the Indian ocean where monsun gruppe operated is out of the theater, which sadly means we won't be getting the RN ships involved in the Indian Ocean raid either. If I'm wrong though devs please correct me.

We have included a battle with two RN Kent class cruisers for for Easter Sunday Raid (Battle of Ceylon).

But overall we are focused on the Solomon Islands for the initial release.
Late war ships and aircraft, a campaign spanning the entire war along with other theatres such as the Atlantic and Mediterranean are all being considered for future content.

As war on the sea will allow for alternate history of the solomon islands campaign and hopefully expanded to december 1941 up to operation downfall or one side or the other suing for peace,

And i have read that on april 19th 1942 after the tokyo raid there was a debate in the japanese military,

Of whether or not to use only land based bombers or to recall akagi and soryu/ hiryu in the defence of japan,

As akagi and soryu/ hiryu were by the 10th of april pland to take part in operation mo but do to a lack of fuel oil at truk atoll,

And so were going to japan to refuel befor heading to truk and joining shokaku/ zuikaku in operation mo,

But that didn't happen and akagi and soryu/ hiryu were held in reserve till 25th of may,
------------------------------------------
And as we are on alternate history say in operation wunderland after the cruiser admiral scheer shell's the port of dikson,

It continues on to the laptev sea and in to northern pacific ocean hunting soviet convoys stoping in japan to refuel,

But now with sea ice blocking the northeast passage the cruiser admiral scheer join's the japanese navy,

You can add some type's of german and italian uboat's from 42-45,

And german merchant raider auxiliary cruiser's like Kormoran and other's,
--------------------------------------------------------------
But seeing stuff like a-
Tirpitz and h 42 battleship's

gneisenau with 15in gun's

Carrier graf zeppelin

Design 1047 battlecruiser

Design b 65 cruiser and design a 50 battleship

HMAS australia battlecruiser

Saipan and midway carrier's

Oregon city and fargo class cruiser's

And other's well nice may not end up in game.

Fighting Steel modded with the campaign generator was a sound effort.....what I liked personally about Fighting Steel was the historical gunnery stats for the Atlantic Theater nations....no personal involvement in gunnery except for the computers historic calculations.....I liked that alot....it seemed more realistic at least to me..

Theres nothing wrong with a comprehensive game....just as long as there is a Atlantic Theater version that eventually materializes. ..just speaking for me- .Im not much interested in the Pacific Theater in WW2.

Initially - I'd rather see a War Plan Orange add-on to the Pacific - battles where classic battleships / cruisers would have still mattered.

If this game is a success, I'd loe to see an expansion pack set in the Mediterranean during WWII - RN vs Mussolini's greatest...

Oh, i like the idea for DLC

I would be happy if in a later scenario it would be possible to beat the British in the Mediterranean with the Italian fleet, or the Germans in the Atlantic. I hope, that the Graf Zeppelin will be buildable here, which I miss until today in Atlantik Fleet

This sounds all good to me.....we can hope this all will materialize sooner than later.

I would love to see a proper fight between Hood PoW (without malfunctioning turrets) King George had a heavier main belt than any actual built battleship ever except Yamato and the British loved to dive their shells massive bursting charges, Hood also had almost same armour belt as Bismarck yet the weak deck so i would love to try get her in close range and see how she preformed i know naval warfare. Or the first massive air attack by the italians and Germans trying to get revenge on illustrious and sink her for her part in Taranto raid
