The composer is Scott Buckley. He's a brilliant artist. He actually has a massive creative commons library that you can use freely for personal or commercial projects. The 2020 Dev recap was actually one such track. Scott however is writing the official soundtrack for Falling Frontier which currently isn't available.
Regarding your question. A game session is expected to last somewhere between 2-40 hours depending on the size of the map. Those numbers will most likely change however that's the a ball park figure for now.
2-40 hours sounds great for a procedurally generated skirmish
I had some suggestions too: would it be possible to have ships fire rockets to slow themselves or change direction? Will mining use the 'tractor beam' for each faction or maybe small drones to gather ala the X series. Do you have in mind something more detailed in ship repair and station construction than the lattice fabrication? I feel guilty asking for more detail since you are just one person but again I hope the early access is successful enough so that you can hire more people!
