Too difficult

The beginning is too difficult. Many of the jumps are too hard in the beginning. No clear direction on where you are supposed to go. I just felt stuck in the starter Forrest and finally gave up. Almost enough to get a refund because it is so frustrating.

If you aren't familiar with Metroidvanias, then this is normal.
If you can't go to place, you're not supposed to. There's a room with thornweeds and you can't dodge and have no weapon? That means you can't go there. There's an impossible jumps? Yup, you need an item to climb unto ledges. Don't know where to go? The map shows unexplored areas you can mark.

That part was already made easier in the June patch, and more so after the sprinting patch. I played the game without either patches. It's doable.

yeah you gotta just keep an eye on your map. helps a lot, and then you unlock stuff like grabbing and climbing ledges.
