Bandit boss beatable?
It's impossible. There are far too many enemies. I'm done.

Tips:
-Use the scimitar, have all 3 magic flasks (4 if you want to backtrack), get the leather doublet.
-Kill the sword and shield bandits as they emerge. You can kill them before they even act. Prioritize them, they have the largest movement range.
-Priority 2 are the archers, 3 are the dual-daggers, 4 is Yuson, and 5 are the sword and spear.

I noticed if you don't do this, you'll be swarmed in no time. But doing this left me with Yuson and two sword-spear guys which I just ignored since they're slow and far from the boss. I used three flasks with a few hearts to spare.

Yuson has the toughest gimmick so far so hang in there!

It's definitely a huge difficulty spike. I've actually found the game to be easy except for a few platforming sections in the Bandit camp, which is a well designed area. The lance and shield enemies are by far the toughest. I'll give it another try with your tips.

I'll try this again. I thought the spear would be the best weapon for crowd control. It does not mesh well with a roll evade when swarmed though. Roll.. pause.. then can swing if you aren't hit. Also, the poison dagger does not poison Yuson. arrows are too slow while in the thick of it, and all those shields make the boomerang useless as a crowd control weapon.

I'm back, and I agree the above tactics work the best. I could be wrong, but Yuson only seems to have valid hit boxes when he's spinning (low sweep attack), or after he has run across the field and his trident is stuck. His belly just jiggles, and a roll dodge/back attack combo does nothing.

I myself am going to leave that boss until they patch it.

You're right. He's only vulnerable after you hit him when he spins, or when he gets stuck in the wall. Like in the Krakken, we get the fishing knife to signal an underwater battle. Here we get the slide attack to hint at the boss' weak spot and how to close the distance when he's stuck.

You're a pro for using the spear here XD The range is good but the recovery frames get me killed.

It's not that the game is too difficult but that it becomes about damage mitigation rather than avoidance. I just stocked up on potions from the witch.
