Nice catch, not sure if it's a coincidence or a nod - would be a very cool crossover though. VTM:Redemption pretty much kickstarted my VTM interest.

That's exactly why I came to this discussion board, lol. I was looking through the screenshots, saw a woman named "Katherine," which is one of the names Ecaterina would like to use (I've heard she uses variants on things that resemble "Ecaterina," and if she's in America, it would fit). That combined with the cloth covering the lower half of her face, which would conceal her destroyed jaw, makes it seem all but confirmed. There are wild fan theories, and then there is this. If it's not her, I would be shocked and confused as to what they were thinking making a character who looks like that and naming her "Katherine."

I wouldn't be surprised if the game never completely confirms it but also never gives reason not to assume it's her.

Yes. She is about as painfully obviously Ecaterina the Wise as she could possibly be.

I am not sure is the name change result of some trademark stuff or not, but it is no big deal to me..

The art's resemblance was certainly not an accident.

both of you played the game probably.i didn't yet(since you have it).i have written this topic before release. anyway about her name it's not trademark when the modern times came she change her background a bit to keep up with times but christof still stuck at medieval times mentality it seems and stay with her as bodyguard. is he mentioned in game in any way?

Blink and you'll miss it, but yes they mention Cristof.

No. Katherines past is also not mentioned, and she appears only as this sort of VIP without any elaborate story related to her. Also disappears after the beginning basically completely, which makes me wonder if they had more planned but pushed the game out earlier and cut the content.

Wait what?

Spoiler for the ending(s) regarding that question: In one ending you have a longer conversation where you talk a bit more about who she is or isn't and it's there that both Ecatarina's name and Christof's are mentioned. Unfortunately I never played Redemption or finished watching a Let's play, so I had a hard time to follow the discussion, but my boyfriend helped me with the context afterwards. :)

An extra spoiler box for the question under the conditions the stuff from above appears: It's in the one that gets you the "bad ending" achievement, the one where you play nice, hold on to your humanity and all that. After the meeting where the investigation is closed I think.

Ecatarina is Christoff's sire and they work together in the middle ages segment of the game. They aren't reunited in the modern era segment after Chrisoff centuries long topor but that ending conversation confirms they found each other and Christoff remains loyal to her

Thank you for that explanation! That's so cool that this game is referring to that and offers the long-time fans some "closure" so to speak. ^^ I wonder, if this is canon, but afaik all official WoD stuff is canon, more or less.

I think Christoff and Anezka are confirmed as canon characters in some World of Darkness books. Good ending for Redemption is confirmed as canonical (no way Christof would work with Ekaterina otherwise) but it was rather obvious anyway as in both bad and neutral endings there is little chance Camarilla would take control over New York

Catherine was mentioned in the New York by night sourcebook for VtM, iirc.
