Cannot open a multiplayer server

First, I want to say that I'm having a blast and I love this game so far.

The only problem I'm having now is that I want to open a multiplayer server to play with my friends but after opening a server the mouse keeps stuttering and I get a lost connection message soon. Also, I cannot scroll through the servers or search for a specific server in the servers list.

Lastly, I hope you can add a simple racing from point A to point B for multiplayer. :)
