Competitive Point Guide?
Total potential guidelines
550 is your average "good" player.
570 is probably your aces.
600 is pretty much the best players
Anything above is pretty much overkill.

If you're trying to keep within point allocations, the following may help reduce the points:
Versatility gives you an alternate playstyle, useful if your players rotate and you need to fill gaps, not so much if your game's set up so players never retire.
Charisma can help fan gain, but so does scoring badges so someone with no charisma can technically outgain someone with S tier, so this is a good place to shave off points if you need it.

Original post
So what's a decent stat allocation if I just wanted to keep my starter sets without being too op'd? Does the AI even hit 120 stats across the board? What point allocation amount should I be aiming for? Also bit weird that charisma allocation is so expensive, does this actually matter that much?

Update
So after completing P1, judging from the scouting I would say that 550s total potential is your average good player. Did also eventually see someone spawn in the high 590s, though they seem to be rare, did see 570s more often. So the originally assignments probably aren't that far off if you wanted your players to be top tier without exceeding what the game can spawn naturally.

I think 2 S+, 1 S, and 2 A+ for ability points is reasonable, but with good luck, a random player might have a better situation
Charm is because it affects the number of fans, the number of fans affects money, and money will help you do a lot of things, especially in the early stages

Thx for the response, there was a recommended points listed but that seemed to be for the whole team and since max heroes is configurable not sure if that took it into account. Ended up near 2000 points out of the recommended 900. Was a couple other things that I wanted to change so I'll try rerolling with that in mind.

Also did any hero any lane, there's some appreciation for the original lane locked hero design, some heroes just shouldn't be in certain lanes.

i like to replicate real moba games where any hero can be anything (kinda), so any lane feature is great. but it should be after the heroes are picked you can choose where to put what (and ai can change too i guess). but thats just way too complicated. currently you dont know what you are facing so its almost pointless. i only use it to maximize breakthroughs and have fun

Just a note, this in the 2nd league so maybe the higher leagues actually has higher characters, but 550 seemed to be about top tier in it judging from the scouting numbers, that pretty much equates to 110 across the board or 120/100 in some. Going off previous assignments you end up at about 580-600 depending on what personalities you pick up. But maybe the higher leagues will be sporting 580+ players, will see when I get there.

Also will note that versatility is really only if you want different play styles, which probably only that useful if you don't restrict lanes/champs, and if you didn't get to pick your starting skills to begin with. So in case you're trying to obey a strict point limit and want to shave off some points this is probably a great place for it. Charisma will also save you points since you can have a dedicated player or two for that.

Update: League 1 top tier cap still seems to be about 550, and nvm a 571 showed up

Was gonna start a new game since apparently there's a card selection option, but might wait till worlds. Either rate updated the guidelines in case anyone's starting a new game.

Should probably note that the game will start feeling pretty one sided once you hit 100 in all stats, specially if the AI hasn't quite caught up. Stat gain also come to a crawl once you hit over 100, and high potentials will allow you to not only get over that but stay there easier. So just something to consider before trying to make a squad of 600 or more point players.
