the game switched to chinese

I launched the update to the beta, saw that the whole game is in chinese and tried to switch back

The main game (not the beta version) is also in chinese now though and I have no idea how to change it back to english. Can anyone possibly assist me with this?

nice! thanks a lot, I have tried pretty much every option possible but mostly in-game. I dont mind waiting for the new content to be translated as long as I can at least play the main game in the meantime

Google lens will translate in real time, so will translate I suppose. I'm sure apple has an equivalence.

thanks but Im not playing on mobile and hopping on and off to translate every single menu and option does not sound like a fun experience. I would rather wait for the localisation to be complete

Wasn't for playing on mobile as you'll need to point your mobile at the thing you wanted to translate, it's just for navigating to the option menus where you can toggle to english when you aren't familiar with the current language. Regardless, we're like 10 patches into the beta and they still haven't bothered updating the localization.

oh, I got what you mean. it still sounds like too much work though...

I like the game, I dont think that I like it THAT much lol. Whenever they update the localization, I may join in on the updates - not planning to jump through hoops in order to play them in the meantime ;)

It's really annoying they couldn't translate this within a week after beta start. Probably time to write a review and give up :-(

I mean it's a beta test for a later build, they're not technically obligated at this point so not sure why you're resorting to review bombing for that. But also yea, does feel like they don't care about english feedback if they're not even bothering to translate it.

its not uncommon at all for english speaking games to do the exact same thing. Its the industry norm and if you apply anything more than that to it than you're just being weird about it. Translations cost time and money and so pretty much all companies wait until they know they actually want what is there translated.

If they translated it now and then changed things then english speaking people would be stuck with an outdated and incorrect translation.

So again thinking that this in anyway is personal to english speakers rather than a normal business decision that pretty much all devs make is really really really really really really really really really really really really really really really silly. Like i can not stress enough how silly it would be to take it as anything except a normal choice.

The thing is it should actually be banned from steam outside the chinese market if they only offer it in chinese. Waiting until you played past the two hour refund mark then switch the game to chinese only is kind of fraud in my opinion. Actually tried to ask for a refund now because it switched to chinese only, doubt it will work though.
