What is the control method please ?

This is WASD+mouse or gamepad. Similar to HADES and other skill-based hack'n'slash games.

The game doesn´t recognize a Playstation 4 controller. Would be very nice to implement it!

Turn on PS4 controller support in Steam itself, and it'll work just fine other than showing Xbox prompts.

Showing Xbox icons when using a PS4 controller is not "working just fine". I hope the developers add proper PS4 icons to this game.

It's true that the gamepad support is a bit "old school". There's only one set of icons for the gamepad for now, and we're using the xbox style icons. I think we could have adaptive icons if we'd implement support for the Steam Controller API (or whatever it's called). This has been brought up before and we'll consider this again. It's a larger change related to our game engine though and probably not completely trivial to do.

Thinking of buying, how are the movement controls? Move to mouse pointer like in Diablo? Not buying if it is strictly WASD.

This is a hack'n'slash game where movement is important so you directly control your character. Controls are quite similar to HADES: Single stick or WASD for movement + action keys on gamepad or mouse. There are a lot of customization options though.

There is an option to set the move direction from the mouse position, and you could bind the movement key to a mouse button if you wanted to have the mouse wholly in charge of movement

I have just bought the game on GOG and like the developer has mentioned in his post above you can set ''move direction from mouse'' in the option menu. It is a very good control scheme, you use W to move and it moves toward where your mouse is, it is a combination of Diablo control scheme (point and click) and survival game control scheme (move with WASD and steer with the mouse). It works like that: put your mouse over an enemy press W to move toward that enemy and when in range click on the enemy to attack. It is not too hard to get use to it, you just need to always follow where your mouse is instead of only your character.
