Controller support seems broken?

Plugged my PS5 controller in to play and it was lagging up a storm, took 2 minutes to finally reach the main menu. Just stuttering along. The moment I unplugged the controller it was smooth as could be no issues.
Restarted to double check and same thing, even launching from big picture mode. Don't have this issue with the same controller in other games like ETS2 or ATS.

Used my 8bitDo controller to check that and the opposite, it was like the controller was ONLY sending the A button prompt, wouldn't stop accepting through menus so also useless.

Weirdly enough worked perfectly fine on Steam Deck, just not on my gaming PC with either controller.

Yeah I have been having issue with PS5 controller also not lag but it seems to be non responsive in game

I found a way to fix it. Go into Steam, properties and turn on Steam Input. I think that's what it's called.

go to steam>settings>controller and on playstation controller support you need to set it to "enabled" instead of "enabled in games who support"

Same crap happened to me too. Never happened before but I assume it was because of their anti-modding bulls#itery they implemented. I'm starting to really hate this company.
