not very much a clone,its a monsterbattaler. i just make that joke cause pokemon is the only monster battler people know. this game is far more in depth than pokemon from what they revealed,like co-op , a vast ability to customize monster move-sets and abilities. and it will probably have a better story than any pokemon game. but yea if you only know monsterhunter from MHW ,then to compare ,this game is probably just as quality in its own way.

you forget that the designs are all way more unique and interesting than pokemon too lel
but yeah, the game is a sequel to the OG monster hunter stories, so if you want to see gameplay more similar you could check that out

Honestly, the first game on the 3ds was basically what Pokemon Sword and Shield TRIED to be, but MHS did it 100K times better! and that's talking about the first game, and it looks like capcom is taking it even further!
Building a team gives you a ton of freedom, you can even change a monsters Element if you want! The world feels alive and believable! Monsters have their own routine's and behaviors in the open world and even interact with each other, like Velocidromes hunting Aptonoths. You fight along side your monster as an equal, Kinship attacks all have unique animations for each monster! (think Z-moves from pokemon Sun and Moon, except BETTER.)
As much as I loved the pokemon series growing up, MHS just did everything so much better. Everything I described was based on the FIRST GAME on the 3DS, and Capcom have shown that the MHS2 is just taking it to the next level, and I am HYPED for it!

Why do peple keep bashing pokemon whenever this game is mentioned even tho the 3ds game has a crapton of flaws. Its more story focused than pokemon but the story is pretty meh changing element of a monster is literally just changing its elemental resists and giving it a new elemental attack both of which are possible in pokemon. Almost all attacks in this game are either ramming into the enemy with its body or a breath attack which is either a beam or a ball. The combat is even easier than pokemon in general because there is 0 strategy you know what your opponent is gonna pick for almost every single monster and win the head on fight. Multiplayer was complete garbage rng garbage and there was 0 strategy involved. And the only difficulty in the games came later with stupid double attacks which cant even be prevented by breaking parts later on. You can have multiple monsters in your team but theres close to 0 point using more than one. When it dies you lose a heart and it stands up again and elements mattered very little. And dont get me started on the mashing minigames during the fight. The idea of little air fight offs or breath battles is nice but i dont wanna break my controller and it happens too often to really make a impact. Take dragonball games for example. There these clashes only happen if both fighters actually trigger them by attacking at the same time or using a ki blast while the opponent throws his at you. And they tried to make it unique by having your rider fight alongside the monsters but he gets progressively more useless the further you go and even at just the mid point of the game is more of a item spam machine than a fighter. And saying "z moves but better" is just dumb considering theyre the exact same thing. A bit longer more cinematic attacks.

Dont get me wrong tho i like the first game and recently played through it again and im hyped for the second game but stop bashing pokemon with just false statements every ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ time this game series is being talked about.

I mean if you played Pokemon Sun and Moon MHS is basically almost every fight would be a Totem Pokemon fight unless you are absurdly overleveled every fight with a main hunt(from the normal quests of monster hunter) monster is a boss fight

That isnt a good comparison considering that they just have the traditional rpg bigger health pools. Totem pokemon and especially Ultra Necrozma hit way harder than regular fights and even some of the boss fights tho.

As far as i know exactly the same thing that if you have a Rathalos against a AI Rathalos the AI Rathalos will be stronger than your Rathalos on Pokemon a lvl 30 Raticate will be the same as any other Raticate while a Totem Raticate tank much more than a normal one damage i didn't feel that much of a difference

Pokemon is like Jurassic Park these days, people love every installment just because they're fans of the franchise, not because of the games themselves. yeah you could probably say this same thing about MH, except at least MH actually tries to make every game have a unique feel in some way, and MHST2 is no different

although tbh it's not really fair to compare the two as they are different games, and mhst is less about the actual fighting than it is about the monsties themselves

Sorry but i love the games because theyre alot of fun to play so your statement is already wrong and saying something is overrated is one of the dumbest thing modern society thought of. Nothing is overrated just because you dont like it for whatever reason doesnt make it overrated. And all i can say is i have way more time spent in a single Sword save file than in my 3 times playing through Mhst. So stop hating on ♥♥♥♥ just for the sake of hating. Also fun depends on the person so bashing something just because you personally think something else is more fun is dumb as well.
