There really is nothing to think about when it comes to mono, or Diablos, Sonic bomb the eff outta em, and you win.
But when the game literally LIMITS you as to how much damage you do, based on weapons, and elements, that becomes a huge problem. Mainly because there's only 10 turns.
I've tried a variety of Npc's, thinking Avinia would be perfect, she is absolutely not, yet the only one who uses something closes to a hammer.
To be doing a whopping 0-2 dmg, because you're not using the right weapon, basically means, you might as well be doing the fight solo. It's stupid.
And meh, I just cheated my way passed it. I'm not about to spend 8 hours on one fight, that's just R-tarded
Anyhow, you've practically proven Vox's point there. You didn't even consider trying to get through this fight legitimately if you've only attempted it 5 times before resorting to cheating. I'd imagine one would attempt the fight, learn from it, and then appropriately prepare to beat it.
It was supposed to be a "trial" for you to overcome on your way to the secret boss, after all.
Imo, you are kinda right. Not using the weapon that the monster is weak for should make it less effective or optimal, not just a waste. So instead of 200, idk, damage for 50, but not for 2, lol.
elders lair velkana is the same thing but 100 times more annoying, takes forever in s. lair.
I hadn't considered Barrel Bombs...
I almost completely forgot about them the entire game.
I'll have to go back and give this fight another shot. Also forgot about Kyle too, he's damn near almost as annoying as Navirou.
EDIT: to be fair, Barrel bombs aren't exactly an item I'd use like I would in the Normal Monster Hunter games.
