Oh hey... Another lame fight I have to cheat in to win....
So I couldn't figure out for the life of me this Elder Lair BS stuff after beating the story, so looked it up to a point, and said, "Oh hey didn't know that".

Up until now I've just been doing SR Multiplayer lairs with my own tickets.

So upon figuring this out, I went back to the Chief, and entered the Elder Lair, and everything was going fine until the Monoblos.

This has got to be the stupidest fight anyone could have possible come up with. I get the fact they're trying to get everyone to use every monsters weaknesses. But my god, add a weapon and element on top of it... It becomes literally impossible.

I've failed at this 5 times already, and that's due to simply because you CAN'T do damage unless you use the right weapon, the right NPC, and the Right element. If you don't have all three, you're absolutely Effed.

Thanks for reminding me how elements, and weapon types work again Capcom but NOPE! After 5 attempts, I'm done, going to one shotting things now, as much as I hate it.

Some of your Designs are just horribly flawed. Much like this one.

It is to get people to actually try other stuff than doing the same strat everytime, think outside the box

There really is nothing to think about when it comes to mono, or Diablos, Sonic bomb the eff outta em, and you win.

But when the game literally LIMITS you as to how much damage you do, based on weapons, and elements, that becomes a huge problem. Mainly because there's only 10 turns.

I've tried a variety of Npc's, thinking Avinia would be perfect, she is absolutely not, yet the only one who uses something closes to a hammer.

To be doing a whopping 0-2 dmg, because you're not using the right weapon, basically means, you might as well be doing the fight solo. It's stupid.

And meh, I just cheated my way passed it. I'm not about to spend 8 hours on one fight, that's just R-tarded

Personally, I didn't have many troubles with any of the Elder's Lair challenges, and I just went in one evening to see how far I can get before it'd get too tough.
Anyhow, you've practically proven Vox's point there. You didn't even consider trying to get through this fight legitimately if you've only attempted it 5 times before resorting to cheating. I'd imagine one would attempt the fight, learn from it, and then appropriately prepare to beat it.
It was supposed to be a "trial" for you to overcome on your way to the secret boss, after all.

More info on this? How did you "cheat" to pass it?

Imo, you are kinda right. Not using the weapon that the monster is weak for should make it less effective or optimal, not just a waste. So instead of 200, idk, damage for 50, but not for 2, lol.

Yeah, when the game gets cheap there's no reason we can't do the same.

I did that fight with all non elememtal weapons equipped so i know for sure you don't need to worry about elements on that fight. I had Reverto as my companion and he just wrecks it. A couple of zone later you need to do the same thing against a gravios and its pretty much impossible without kyle and i did need to use the right element for that fight. All the weaknesses are in monsterpedia.

Idk, failed once, then got right weapon and companion and beat it 2nd try, not sure what would take you 8 hours.

I believe kyle is great for this fight as monoblos is weak to a lot of his or her areas of piercing. Pretty easy fight but can turn really hard if you have someone who uses a sword & decides to troll your team by taunting while you throw a sonic bomb & it's a total wasted turn.

its just a puzzle not real fight, also not a fan of the implementation, but they are not hard. even in s. elders lair, you just have to do the steps the game wants you to do.
elders lair velkana is the same thing but 100 times more annoying, takes forever in s. lair.

Literally just make a water bow, hammer, and sns and take kyle and it's incredibly easy.
OR IGNORE ALL THE ABOVE AND USE BOMBADIER XL AND MEGA BARREL BOMBS!

I hadn't considered Barrel Bombs...

I almost completely forgot about them the entire game.

I'll have to go back and give this fight another shot. Also forgot about Kyle too, he's damn near almost as annoying as Navirou.

EDIT: to be fair, Barrel bombs aren't exactly an item I'd use like I would in the Normal Monster Hunter games.
This OP post is obnoxious. As soon as you figure out how to attack and do damage correctly, using the right buddy combined with might card and prayer this fight takes 0 effort to get through I completed it about 5 turns early and lost once to figure out the mechanic for the first time. Nothing about this game is difficult in any way compared to say for example Monster Hunter World which gets VERY difficult into the Iceborn content.
