But the whole weapon mechanic on Stories is just plain horrible the gameplay designer is just ♥♥♥♥
Other than that, yeah they're kinda sucky lol
I'm either switching weapons so often to figure out which weapon the part is weak against, or the part breaks and i have to switch to anther weapon because of course that weapon was only useful for that one part.
it was neat hanging out with that revelo guy beacuse he actually used the GS charge all the time. Was totally bad ass. i wish i could be a hunter in this game :(
another bad design not allowing to be a hunter i mean that could actually work on a 4 player coop(with 1 rider and 1 hunter or 4 hunters) but the egg reward gets useless....the main MH series reward is the monster loot....
i would really like to see a turf war in stories but the monsters just gank on you...
what bothers me the most is weapon skill and only having 2 for each it isn't hard at all to design a weapon to turn based MH based on the Weapons of MH...
Or you could use a monstie that applies the requisite effect. Though I've no idea why you'd bother with the chaser abilities to begin with; meteor is far more useful. I've been one shot breaking parts since Chapter 2 ...
Ah yes the win a HtH to do more damage otherwise you can't do a thing with the weapon super good
Yawn
Tell me you don't know how head to heads work without telling me you don't know how head to heads work.
I get hammer charge easy, because I know how to double attack. It's attacking my monstie? Double attack time. It's attacking my battle buddy's monstie? If that monstie is using the right attack type, I'm double attacking there too--you know you can double attack with your buddy's monstie, right? Any attack from the enemy that isn't untyped, or focused on specifically my battle buddy, is a potential hammer charge for me.
And it should be, because every double attack I can get is an attack I'm shutting down from the enemy. Double attacks and holding ride opportunities are how you control the action economy.
If I can't get a head to head on any given turn, that's my opportunity to use those charges. If anything, hammer is on top. If I use greatsword I can't gain or spend charge on any turn where a double attack is possible, or else I'm giving up a potential double attack and eating preventable damage.
It's almost like some don't understand strategy. Eh, at least you may have schooled a few lost souls.
But I will admit Hammer can be a bit more strict about building charge but the payoff is pretty big for it. A fully charged Hammer Skill deals a large chunk of both health and part damage. I've nearly one shot a part from full with a level 3 charge.
So I wouldn't agree that hammer sucks. A bit harder to get charge for but the payoff is good.
Still if it's not your thing, Hunting Horn is there as an option. Which is something I like about this game. Wish there was an extra weapon per type but I do enjoy what we have.
Gunlance is pretty enjoyable.
