Somewhat new to MH Franchise
Hey guys! I was hoping you guys could enlighten me on how this game will feel. I just recently beat MHW and saw this and thought. Wow a story with feeling behind it? I LOVE the art style and was wondering how this game will feel.

Looks like your chr will not have a voice?? Just fully customizing appearance.

Was there any romance in the 1st game and will there be any in this do you think?

The trailers show this game to be about friendship and emotional events (the crying from the girl in one of the trailers) THAT is what got me hooked and hyped.

I know this is a spin off but what are your guys take on Stories?

As I tested the Switch demo, you can customize your character (hairs, color, eyes, tattoos..) and there is some voice set (like 3 if Im right but that the sound he'll or she'll make when he/she attack, takes damage etc)
And no, there is no romance in MH, only friendships. In the first one there is no romance at all. Maybe it can change in this one but I doubt.
But ngl the story looks way better than the first one and the RPG gameplay with ambiances make this game so relaxing as you gonna explore the world with your fav monster.

Awesome thanks! I guess it will feel similar to MHW then with how your character will interact with stuff. I am actually totally fine with no romance. Lets the story just play out. So excited this is coming to PC so soon.

You're welcome! Glad I could help! :spyro:
check out gameplay of the first game and see if it interests you (or play the demo on your phone or something, I think it still exists?)
This one is a straight up upgrade and expansion from that, so if you find the first fun you will absolutely love this one

That may or may not be a tie-in to the first game's story involving a special Rathalos...

look at it this way: The mainline MH-series is a SP/Co-op action-game that involves killing or capturing monsters to conquer territories and yet preserve the eco-system (that's the lore-background of what a Monster Hunter actually does).

MH Stories is a relatively new series of spin-offs (the first one being a late 3DS-title from 2017), in which you hatch monsters from eggs you find and then you actually ride them and use them in combat with a semi-random turn-based combat-system.

There's also a mechanic in which you can combine two monsters to mix and match abilities and so on. Your own eugenics-program.

Weapons and gear you craft is based on what you could craft in the baseline MH-games, but it's used differently. Most of your power actually comes from choosing the correct action during combat, as it works exactly like rock/paper/scissors. If you combo hard-counters, you can mount and perform stronger attacks or special moves with your "monstie". Getting hard-countered yourself will stack against you and if your enemy combos, you will be dismounted.
I'm not sure if MHST2 has the exact same system or does it differently, didn't try the demo.

Personally, I enjoyed it. It's a little on the simple side, yet light-hearted and fun. And with light-hearted, I mean that it has a more children-friendly tone to it.
