Player count concerns
Should i be worried for The Oceanic playerbase? Last I saw the global player count was shy of 5k.
I'm only asking cos DBZ games usually peak higher at launch. :majinbuu:

probably.

The game is fun, but the player count makes it scary.

Sheesh...
Well it was only 30 bucks!
Guess I'll have my fun while it lasts! :Goku:

I assume a lot of people are steering clear of this game right now due to concerns with MTX and balance. A lot of people going into the beta had the wrong idea about what this game is supposed to be, and so complained about not being able to 1v1 the raider or about getting wrecked by the survivors as the raider because they were working together. Likewise, the game has a built in gacha system that provides incentive to pay extra to reduce the workload of doing pulls for free which people are critical and wary of.

Once the game is more well understood and makes some necessary changes to balance and currency drop rates, I expect it will probably take off, but the betas and misconceptions flying around about the game during them probably did more to hurt the launch than to help. A lot (though I don't know exactly how many) of people canceled their pre-orders.

I hear that, I just hope it doesn't drop off the :dragonradar: before it gets the chance :majinbuu:

Taking a risk on a new idea so they won't heavily advertise for it, the best you can do is spread the word on how much you enjoy the game to get more people interested, doesn't help though that the reviews are mixed and every youtube video I see are titling their videos with game is unfair or stupid but the actual video is them having a lot of fun.

Yeah I've talked about:

DRAGON BALL: THE BREAKERS

3,381 players right now
4,057 24-hour peak
4,057 all-time peak 6 hours ago

Dead by Daylight

55,837 playing 6 min ago
66,881 24-hour peak
105,052 all-time peak

DB/DBZ is a very popular licence too and DBD is a very old game btw.

RESIDENT EVIL RESISTANCE:

38 playing 39 min ago
49 24-hour peak
4,181 all-time peak

Without crossplay the game may end up like RE Resistance (the PC versions died in like 3 month, but on console the game still had more players), sadly Bandai namco doesn't do crossplay that much so it's kinda not good now, but maybe they'll go F2P at some point.

Hopefully not, since that would just make some of the biggest issues people have with the game (MTX, low currency drop rates, grind heavy, etc.) far worse to make up for the price drop.

But if the playerbase drop to a very low level then that's less money gained, they could just go F2P and later on sell some DLCs. If the game dies then all your items will be useless and you would have wasted 20$ (or 30$, or more).

Convenient and no sell power

It's not really likely to die. It might not reach the amount of players that DBD has, but unless something really egregious happens the playerbase it has will stick around and play from time to time. It's probably going to drop a bit after the initial hype wears off, but further updates will reel people back in and convince more people to buy the game.

The game needs the root problem fixed, which is balancing issues and low drop rates. Going free to play would just make these problems worse on top of reducing the risk of cheating, and runs a severe risk of the new players it gains from the free to play update quickly leaving after realizing how bad the monetization is as a result of said update.

Really doesn't help that they didn't make the game crossplay. I'm in europe and already today I'm struggling with massively long wait times.
The game was fun while it lasted.

No it's a good thing that this game is not crossplay because some players are already cheating on PC, it's unfortunate but the PC version will probably die first. If you really enjoy this game you could get it on console, if you start now you'll have to grind less.

This game might not even last long there slot of issues with it kinda slimier to xenoverse where your attacks don't even do any damage at all to the raider They sould of added some kinda something prevent movement if lagging that badly in the game

When the raider transform or pick a dragon ball you can't damage him, so it's just Iframes.
