Are Raiders really complaining about Nimbus of all things?
I'm not joking when I ask this question, are Raider players seriously complaining about players using Flying Nimbus to scout the area from above to keep tabs on the Raider? If so, that's just sad.

TIL people want to nerf a simple flying skill smh

I don't even have nimbus

It's just another one of those things that only 2 raiders (Zamasu and Broly) can properly counter at all levels. Nimbus with Expert Speed Boost is out of there and there isn't a damn thing most raiders can do about it.

I think the only raider that complains about it(and Puar and Baba) is Baby. Baby lvl 1 quite literally has no counterplay to it and it completely f's over what his play experience is supposed to be.

Some will say Cell 1 has no counterplay, but he only needs to grab one civilian and he will be in an ok spot. Not a big deal to be calling him out.

Saibaman has been 'fixed' to require only 3 civilians and so has a counterplay option to hunting down survivors.

Baby? Baby needs what 6 civilians at least so if hunting survs isn't an option then he just doesn't get to play. Now if Baby had some sort of option to knock a flyer down if he is smart enough to look up and spot the pinger than that would be a different story, but right now that type of play is a MASSIVE MASSIVE F U to baby with no counter play.

What I expect to happen is that rather than finding some kind of counter play or other balance, they'll just move Baby down to 3 civilians like Saiba and increase his evo needs at 2 and 3. It would be better if they added some sort of map effect for Baby 1 that reduced visibility(fog) so that flyers have to fly low enough that they could potentially get grabbed if they aren't careful. Would make you really have to rely on your ears for both roles.

The literal counterplay to Nimbus as LVL1 Baby is to literally just go into a cave and swap hosts. People seem to forget that one of LVL1 Baby's strongest tools is the ability to redirect himself to basically any area of the map in the blink of an eye.

Raider players, look up for once, and use your head. See a Nimbus/Baba/Puar? Swap to a civvy on the other side of the map. It's not that hard. Anyone that says otherwise has a major skill issue as Raider they need to iron out. Coping about Nimbus is absolutely hysterical given it's been the same since Season 2 and nobody's complained about it the whole time until Raiders got a taste of the power trip Survivor's have been on and want to get nerf-happy. Maybe Goku Black is more up to the task for players that can't use their brains, he doesn't even have Dragon Balls to worry about, and the ST only drops at LVL3. Just LVL2 strat your way to victory, not like the Survivors can dodge to stall you out of the STM anyways. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

Blonde Launch makes Nimbus now actually pretty good, obliviously there's better skills to use that are meta but it's not horrible.
Dragotech Jul 5, 2024 @ 7:46pm
If raiders are asking for more nerfs then I say it's a skill issue.
Buzzsaw Jul 5, 2024 @ 8:10pm
I once had a Survivor spinning circles with her Nimbus, and I couldn't hit her with any of my attacks :P. Partly, that's due to the garbage lock on system. I was only able to hit her by using my evasive. While that situation was annoying, frankly I don't trust the devs to nerf Nimbus in a way to prevent that without doing something stupid along with it.

at least Nimbus is worth using at all now

never forget how crap it's been for so long, & how little of a reason there was to use it over that stupid ship

And then you are pinged by Puar//Baba/Nimbus/Ship Number 3. Doesn't really matter if it is Puar/Baba/Nimbus/Ship 1, 2, 3, 4, or 5 that pings ya you know? Unless you are really lucky you won't be getting survivors since you'll get pinged the moment you are at all visible from the air. Though some maps have a lot better cover than others for you to use to try and get the jump on someone.

But yes Jumping is really all you can do. Just ain't going to help much since the pings will be on you again within moments after you are visible from the air. You are basically hoping one member of the team is stupid enough to basically feed themselves to you by not being cautious around civs.

basically, while hoping to get civs & maybe survivors run into infected civs
not even like he has a flybaman sort of equivalent
on the plus side, infect goes through basically everything within arms reach (assuming yer even locked on) doesn't even matter if it's instant rise if ya do it too late
hell when I'm survivor, I'll just avoid caves, use wall kick or midair jump, then grapple or somethin to another side if i have to, his slow ass aint climbing all the way up to me

They'll cry nerfs for all survivor things when it directly implicates their defeat. They just don't want to lose ever, it means they actually have to learn how to play the game instead of being constantly brain-dead

The funny thing is that Baby only has to worry about it for one stage before snowballing as lvl 2. Like a decent Baby can still recover from a niche strat like that.

Baby is literal garbage against people not feeding. One of the most RNG based raiders out there. His level 4 is ggs, but the rest are w/e. I am more scared of Cell or Recoome than any of Baby's other forms.

Not really, his Level 3 is extremely capable. Both supers are snipes, as well as wide AOE, the reverse shot adds in some extra unwanted damage even if you manage to avoid it, and if people went down enough, his servants are an unwelcome strat killer as they spam supers and ki blasts extensively until you either knock them out or run away, in which case, if Baby isn't being distracted, you're screwed. Like Level 3 Vegeta, he thrives in heavy STM fighting.

Not to mention he carries 2 evasives. He's better at holding his own at STM than Goku Black arguably.
