When going up against Baby LVL 1...

Use King Kai's Telepathy Active against Baby LVL 1

Since this raider doesn't have a heartbeat radius, this active will be very helpful in keeping all of the survivors alive from surprise ambushes.

I imagine the devs would make it so that skill just doesn't work on Baby when he's lvl 1, as that would SEVERELY weaken him. But then again, given these dev's history, maybe that's giving them too much credit. :P

It'll probably work because the same could be said about Broly, right? Broly is designed to hunt and catch survivors offguard ESPECIALLY at the beginning of the match and Telepathy would counter him hard, but the devs still made it work on him.

Besides, that's not Baby's only strength as a level 1. I would say his main gimmick/strength at that level is infecting survivors/civilians.

But you're right about the dev's history, I mean look at how weak Cell is at level 1. The devs don't seem to care about how weak a raider is at the beginning.

Ok so here's what I've learned when going up against Baby level 1:

1) unfortunately, telepathy does NOT work

2) he can spawn right next to you (he downed several of us LITERALLY 5 seconds into the match)

3) you cannot check to see if a civilian is infected (there doesn't seem to be anything different about them. their eyes are the same, etc)

4a) civ rush

4b) be careful of civilians in houses that aren't destroyed or opened. The raider can teleport to that civilian and hide in him/her

4c) do not go for civilians that are in weird places (those are the ones that are definitely infected) or ones that you know Baby has been near UNLESS Baby is already fighting someone then he's probably too distracted/pre-occupied to come to you

5) you can dragon change to break free from the struggle with an infected civilian (this was mentioned in the tips/guide when you first log into the new season but I thought I would put this here in case some people skipped over it)

Nope. Just tried it. It does not work if you're at level 0 or at any level.

6) if you're Puar or you have sight of Baby, follow him and keep pinging him as he move through the map

7) you cannot break free of a struggle with an infected civilian with Power Unleashed

8) just walking next to an infected civilian is enough to trigger a struggle so be careful

Camouflage seems to block the instant kill from Phase 1, but it undoes your transformation.

I updated 4b in my original comment. In that tip, I said it's absolutely safe to go for civilians in unopen houses. That is not the case. The raider can teleport to that civilian and hide/camp in him/her. RIP (I would still try to rescue those civs anyway)

So you're saying that if the raider comes up to you while you're camouflaged, they can't instant down you even though they know that's you? Can they still hurt you and knock out of camouflage though?

When I deliberately approached Phase 1 while using Camouflage, it didn't down me or break my barrier but forcefully removed my Camouflague.

From what I saw after I deliberately approached Phase 1 while under Camo, it didn't down me or break my barrier but forcefully removed my Camo.

Does the raider have to be within a certain range or do they have to be right next to you to knock you out of it?

Probably about same range as they would need to one shot you as Phase 1. I'm guessing that while Phase 1 they still get the infect prompt when they approach you camouflaged but rather than killing you it just fails and undoes your transformation.

I pretty much wanted to test if Phase 1 can kill camo since you can't target it, and if they can't I'd abuse it to stalk them to give away their location.

Nvm, just tried using camo as a shield against a Phase 1 pursuit, doesn't work. But Civilian radars work on the Raider.

So what do you mean by using it as a shield? You mean they were already chasing you and you tried to use to Camo temporarily prevent an instant down?

Yeah. I've been using "Ki Tracking" to detect level 1 Baby and Civilians. "Listen" also works too.
