Is this game worth it on sale?
I keep seeing discussions and reviews saying this game isn't very fun for new players. I love dragonball, and DBD. Is it worth buying on sale?

No. Game can be fun sometimes, but it has consistently become a worse experience with every season. I'd skip it until you hear good things about it.

At the moment I don't see hope for this game but you should try it for yourself.
If you buy it on steam (sale or normal) you can test it for 2 hours and if i's not for you just refund it. - If you buy a key from a reseller there is no refund option.
But maybe you should wait for the next season (Feb/March 2024) and hope that crossplay is added.

At the moment the queue times for a match are long. Sometimes longer than a match
The gacha is the worst I know with no pity system while.
They implemented a region lock, so you can not play with everyone. If your region is empty you can wait for HOURS for a game or need to use a monthly paid VPN.

It's not very beginner friendly and now that everyone is FORCED to play ranks the toxicity and try hards keep increasing.

I personally love this game, i can say it has its unbalanced moments, but in all truthfulness there's not really a single asymmetrical game out that's balanced right now so if your expecting a perfectly balanced game your not gonna get that, the games also quite monetized, its 100% possible to play and earn a lot of things free. Do expect to spend cash on the game if you want to experience everything at its fullest, though its not needed. Theres also a gacha system in the game. The gacha can 100% be done using just the in-game money for a lot of the transpheres in the shop, but newer transpheres will cost tickets or real money, the tickets you will normally get, are earned from events or the battle pass. Though i may be talking about a lot of negatives, i can say this games gameplay is a unique and fun experience and can be really exciting when you get good games. and all the skills survivors have really gives him so many ways to build your character. I personally say buy this game, even when its not on sell. Its not to expensive and is well worth the price it costs. The game only becomes if you decide to buy all of the raiders and character skins, or whale on the gacha. But if your okay with spending money just do it slowly over time, everything will add up and becomes a lot easier to handle money wise.

The game is fun but there are a lot of cons to it sadly. I recommend checking out some gameplay on YT and if you like it then buy. Dont spend more than 10$ on this though lmao.

100% a must have, if you can get it for $15 or less.

I'd have been sorry if I missed out because of the bad reviews, which are from jaded players who used to love it and from idiots who think it's Fighterz.

That being said, the business model is less than ethical.

Edit: You have to live in an area where people play it, at a time that people play it. Sahara desert and North Pole residents are discouraged from buying it.

Edit2: Assuming you are not one of those aforementioned idiots, of course. After hearing their arguments multiple times, I developed a self-test you can take to find out, free of charge:
"How do you feel regarding the following statement? 'I play dragonbawl to feel powerful, a badass (like the protagonists when I used to watch it dubbed and reversioned by Funimation), not to be afraid of Majin Bu!'"
1) Strongly Agree
2) Agree
3) Neither Agree nor Disagree
4) Disagree
5) Strongly Disagree.

Edit3: I forgot it is Christmas! So let me add a disclaimer:
*No offense to any morons, idiots, or variations thereof*

No. 👏 Nothing but trash, trash, and more trash.
Trash teammates (but only when you're not Raider tho, when you're the Raider after 2 hours of prio farming you get seal team 7 to ROFLstomp you).
Trash corpse camping toxic Raiders that taunt every 5 seconds the moment they so much as down someone because the one match they don't get a premade they have to take out all of their teenage angst on casual players.
Trash gameplay. Melee is literally punished while backpedaling like a coward and spamming Ki Blasts is literally the only way you're not throwing the match.
Trash laggy ass VPN users. Need I say more if you play in the US region past 4:00PM.
Trash balancing. You see what they've done to the game first hand if you've been around long enough or watched enough content.
Trash gacha. This needs no elaboration. Gacha in a paid game.
Trash FOMO. Orange/Beast is a perfect example of this, and they're GACHA.
Trash ranked. Everyone knows what I mean if they've been corpse camped and deranked because all bronze after being downed 5 seconds into the match against a Broly.

Well, in the beginning, you really need to slog it through until you got some skills that let you survive better. If you can get it for cheap, and are a dragonball fan then sure, go and buy it

Cause ever since ranking dropped, people have been less willing to revive folks who are less than level 50. They are also less willing to revive if you got cooked by the raider too fast, or allowing the raider to reach level 2 too fast.

I try my best to revive people despite being a level 58 survivor myself. I got incredibly lucky with the gacha and got lots of skills like IT, EF, Beyond Super Saiyan, Instant Ascent and Descent, Wall kick, landing nullification, and big bang vegeta, and many more that I don't remember the exact name of.

I hate how ranked turned this game from a casual game to a slightly competitive one. Found a lot more toxic behaviors from high level survivors now too, I just hope I don't end up like them

this game is very fun if u dont care if u lose. u dont play this game for a balanced experience.

u will also love this game if u dont feel pressure for gacha.

new players at this point got it rough, but its like that for every game centered around progression. jus play n hav fun. if u love dragon ball u will love this, n its only 20 bucks new.

There are 200 games where you can feel what it's like to be regular joe or the farmer with a shotgun.

There are 30 games where you can feel what it's like to be ultra instinct Goku, Majin Bu, or the DeviantArt fanfic characters like Xicor, Hit, and Jiren.

There is only one game where you can feel what it's like to be:
Future Gohan vs 17 and 18
Goku and Gohan vs Radditz
Piccoro, Gohan, Tienshinhan, and Krillin vs Nappa.
Vegeta, Krillin and Gohan vs the Ginyu Force
Krillin and Kid Gohan vs Dodoria when they save Dende
Krillin vs Cell1 when he saves the woman and her daughter
Krillin and Android 18 vs Cell2

To me, those are the most exciting and meritorious scenarios in the show. This is the only place where you can experience that. Sure, you can play Yamcha in Fighterz or Tenkaichi... but is that really Yamcha? Beating Frieza, really? It rings false, and in Tenkaichi it additionally feels unearned.

I'm seeing new players constantly so SOMETHING is drawing you guys in. Give it a try if you can get a very good deal, otherwise I'd probably wait a little longer to see where it goes.
