Am I missing something?
How do you use the katana on Great Ape Vegeta? Everytime I've tried it just does a tiny bit of damage, followed by getting stomped into the dirt

Is this intentional? Why make an entire new item that's so useless?

The only part of Great Ape Vegeta's body that can take significant damage is his tail. So it's likely that you either weren't aiming at his tail, or the hitbox registered as hitting some other part of his body.

I've tried on multiple occasions and I swear I went right for the tail. How much damage is it *supposed* to do?

Honestly, that's all I know about it. For whatever reason whenever I find a katana in a game, Vegeta never goes Great Ape so it ends up being useless. I've heard some people say that it only does a lot of damage if he's on his last bar of health which... sounds kind of bad, but balancing I guess?

Just kinda funny that they hyped up this "low chance of spawning" item and turns out multiple spawn constantly and they're practically useless 9/10 times lol

The katana actually doesn't deal a lot of damage to Great Ape Vegeta. Contrary to belief, there's no secret damage multiplier or hidden effect that makes the katana deal more damage to the monke tail. It deals a flat amount of damage to the tail, no matter what. The damage you were getting was in fact the damage it deals to the tail. It really is only useable as a last-ditch effort with no change and you'd rather die fighting than try to go for an ETM. Sadly, that's the way it is, as having something that could kill a LVL4 with little effort would be way too busted, so we have to settle for getting Yajarobe's Letter Opener instead of his Katana.

The katana tracking is Janky you are better off doing the vanish attack on the tail

I really hope they patch it to make it not totally useless, such a waste of an item

That's kinda what I figured. Based on the trailer I assumed maybe you'd be able to revert Vegeta back to level 3 by sneaking up and slicing his tail, so seeing the actual ingame effects being so useless is such a letdown
try it with the jump pad and use it to help people fighting vegeta before ape form, its really fun to keep the raider still long enough for a follow up beam cannon
