LAG / Frame Issues with Discord Voice Calls

I am having a lot of frame lag and connection issues when I am specifically in any voice call on discord.

I originally thought this was my hardware not being able to run the game, but I run the game just fine on higher settings when I am not in a call. I also thought this might be due to the game not being able to run well with other programs on the side, but again it runs just fine so long as it's not a discord call. I have tried running steam on admin but it in result means I have to run discord on admin to even use it.

I don't know what the problem here is but being in a voice call 100% guarantees I encounter the issue, and it's incredibly annoying because when I play with friends I kind of like to be in a voice call with them.

Sounds like an issue with your internet connection specifically. Breakers is a P2P game, so it may be more susceptible to latency if your internet isn't that great and/or or if you're using data(downloads, streaming, etc) at the same time.

Are you able to run other online games at the same time as Discord with no issues?

Yeah I'm able to run other games just fine along with Discord calls. It's a problem I have encountered with only Breakers.

The game is known to have issues with discord, some people had stutters because their processor weren't that and while running discord the game was just stuttering, so for some reason even with a good processor the game doesn't like to have discord running along.

Try using discord in the browser, not as app/program.

Its Krsip Voice Supression. Turn that off and it should fix itself

I didn't have Krisp Voice Supression on, but I don't disbelieve that it would solve someone else's problem.

It definitely is something wrong between the game and the discord app. I took that advice of opening discord through my browser and joining a call and my game still runs smoothly. I can't get the browser to recognize my mic but yeah that's a separate issue.

And this had me thinking of easy alternatives for other people encountering the same problems. Steam has an integrated voice call button and my game runs smoothly with that as well.

Discord is hardware hungry. I still like teamspeak, doesnt need too much ressources in the background.

Maybe try to unlink your steam account from discord if you use it for the windows application version.
But as you solve it using the web browser, this is good.
