It's not that I dislike the fighting but I'm a Classic DB fans that want to see more than just fights, I mean the franchise started as a humoristic adventure.
I enjoyed the original dragon ball as it did apply more tension to Goku and the other characters whenever they did need to fight and the dragon balls were harder to obtain to revive them if they died. This game seems like a good change of pace compared to the usual dragon ball experience, something different from just fighting. It gives the previous villains a chance to be intimidating again with their power rather than punching bags in the fighting games, especially when playing chars like Bulma, Oolong, and civilians who don't have the strength of the Z-fighters, so you have to avoid contact with them.
I hope the game does well enough to where some classic villains like King Piccolo and Garlic Jr make a return. They have not made much of an appearance in recent titles due to the power scale of late. This game presents some potential means of bringing them back in the form of Raiders and I look forward if they do along with other new and older villains.
People forget that the entire Dragon Ball journey began the day Goku met Bulma.
And yes, it almost seems like a large number of the "fans" have not actually watched any of the series. The vast majority of the shows are exactly this game type stuff. Side characters, running around, trying not to die, while attempting to accomplish some crazy task, all while waiting for Goku to show up, or get out of a time chamber, etc, lol. This game is more DB than the other DB games where all you do is fight the fights.
I mean why defeating Buu and saving Earth if humans weren't there?
When I see dragon ball breakers I see old school dragon ball. You as the survivor are far weaker than Freeza just like gohan and Krillin were. you have to rely on tactics rather than brute force. Thats why I'm excited for the game.
