If you set your priority to killer or survivor, every game you don't end up as those your priority increases by 1, until you finally get your game.
Whoever has the highest priority in the matchmade party gets the role they want.
For most use cases this really just means if you set your priority to raider, you'll have to play 2 to 4 survivor games before each raider round. Ish. Depends on your luck.
If you set your priority to survivor you will almost assuredly always be survivor.
To a degree. It will be rough starting out, especially if you run into players that have experience from the betas but playing both sides will also give you a better idea of what Survivors do and need to do to aid in growing as a Raider.
Raider, for example, doesn't get to see the outline where Power Keys are placed but those spots only spawn in like 1 of 3 places in a given zone. Having knowledge of where those places are as a Raider will let you cut down on scan time when trying to deny an objective.
As Frieza you'll have an easier time dealing with the Survivors since his ranged attacks are... busted as heck compared to Cell's. You also get to use Dodoria and Zarbon to scout for you, and will ping any Survivors they encounter and attempt to attack the nearest one they find.
Cell has the perk of evolving faster than Frieza, especially from Stage 1 to 2, and you'll be able to sense people through walls. He also has a more "defensive" toolkit, having both a get out of jail card if you get bumrushed by several Survivors, and Solar Flare to crowd control and stun the Survivors.
