Sudden Death is boring
title says it all

it's the most boring, useless mechanic, if I can get to 40 without an issue, why do I, or the opponent get forced to lose because of RNG???? (unless someone has less hearts)

Why does this mechanic even exist, It's been here since day 1 and is the most boring mechanic of this game

Probably to force players to fight at one point, instead of going "super late game" when it's not the point of this game. We already have BTD6 for that.

battles2 lags WAAAAAY more than btd6.

also what is "RNG" about sudden death? the only way to lose at sudden death is to be worse than you opponent, because you lost more lives. as far as im aware there is very little rng in this game.

I think he meant if both players go no lives lost the entire game (including at sudden death), the game was programmed to give the win to player 1 (to prevent endless game). I could be wrong about the details though.

when you're both at 150, it is completely RNG on who it picks..

At least where i play in the Hall of Masters, sudden death is simply part of the strategy. If you're running a loadout like ninja alch, for example, that might win by out-lategaming your opponent, you need to consider that you might need slightly more defense early game and you therefore can't greed as much. However, you then have an advantage late game because the opponent is forced to rush you. There is very little rng when it comes to sudden death. It just adds some strategical variety in the lategame, as otherwise the only thing that changes in the later rounds is scaling, which is extremely one-dimensional.

If you mean to say that the game randomly picks a player to win if they are both at 150 lives, that's not how it works. You just go into sudden death for another 10 rounds.

have either of you ever played sudden death??
thats not even close to how it works.

at r40 whichever player has more lives wins. (keep note that any lives over 150 dont count)
if you leak even 1 life after r40 you lose.

if both players have the same amount of lives, and dont leak at all, the game goes on til r50

if neither player leaks past r40, both have the same life count, and the game reaches r51, then the game ends. both players get a "draw," you dont lose or gain a trophy.

Maybe i'm getting confused from BTB1, idk. Or maybe i mistook one "auto P1 win" because of lag (from a video). Again, i wasn't 100% sure on what i said before.

Multiple occassions, I have lost on a 150 - 150 r40, hence the post of RNG factor.

But this system you speak of, is even more boring. Regardless of how "Sudden Death" is supposed to work, or does work, it is a boring system to me. people keep recommending me BTD6, but I DON'T want coop, I want the PvP aspect, it is much more chaotic IMO.

BTD Battles 1, is, although what im looking for, boring and stale to me now, no new towers, same meta (as in everyone uses the same towers), and unlike 6 and Battles 2, the upgrades cap out at 4, and only have 0-0 instead of 0-0-0. There are factors to Battles 2 that I prefer, like the modern-ised feel of it, Sudden death just ruins it for me. I absolutely despise it. It makes the game MUCH less enjoyable for me.

if the game gave you a loss on round 40 if both players had even lives, that's unintended. The game is supposed to continue.

if you don't like sudden death, that's fine. However, there needs to be a way to shake things up in rounds 30-50. As I said before, the only thing that changes at this point is bloon health and speed scaling. THAT is boring. I don't want that to be the only objective that i'm playing to lategame. With sudden death, I can choose to force my opponent into rushing me, given how the early game was played out. It offers a lot more strategical depth than if the game were to just keep going until round 50, making the game less boring, not more.
