I remember mystman12 stating that saving outside of the pitstop will become a feature, but it will cost you to lose a life because of how the game's structure works.

what I mean is that when you are in the elevator place with the shop, when you quit using the pause menu the save deletes

I don't think there was a misunderstanding, lol, pete was just bringing up something that mystman had said in the past about save functionality

had to go looking but I believe I found what he was on about? back in 2024 when asked about the possibility to add the ability to save from the pause menu, mystman had this to say:

Thank you for bringing this up! Not sure how I didn't think about this prior, but you're right, that's a bit of an oversight on my part. I've just changed it so that when you quit through the menu while in the pit stop it will now save and quit. This change will be pushed when the next update releases.

The Pit Stop has a feature to save the game, but the player has to enter an area after opening a door. If the player can save the game by quitting it through the pause menu, this can be handy.

After this update, the pause menu in the Pit Stop may be updated, so the text 'Quit' is changed to 'Save and Quit' instead.
