Why there no anti-piracy screen in Plus?

Basically Games, you have made a big mistake about not enabling the anti-piracy screen in Plus.
Can you please fix this?

The old anti-piracy screen relied on Steam, but now that there are official non-steam releases, the old method for detecting pirated copies wouldn't work.

I cannot find a source on that, do you have a link? I was able to find a source of mystman stating (albeit way back on August 5th, 2018) that he's "not sure how to detect if a game's been pirated or not" but finds the idea of messing with gameplay in pirated versions hilarious (source[baldis-basics-in-education-and-learning.fandom.com])

there's also a comment from July 29th 2018 that states that the game will be 'DRM free' on itch.io and GOG (source[imgur.com]), implying that the steam release is planned to have DRM... which. feels odd to have one version with DRM and one without, both able to be purchased at the same time. I guess specifically to let people play with a 'poorly cracked' version with messed up gameplay for fun?

The main reason anti-piracy exists is so that people don't take your game files and post them online for other people, but since Baldi's Basics Plus is out on itch.io, which doesn't have drm, it would be pointless to drm the steam version since people would just download from someone who uploaded the itch.io version anyway. I don't know if gamejolt has drm, I've never used it.
