Stuck at "Here, let me try something..."

The safe with three bulbs appears and Lumi says "Here, let me try something" with the arrow on the dialogue to indicate it needs to be clicked to continue. Clicking it does nothing, but nor does Lumi do anything. No key or mouse click appears to progress th game.

At this point, Lumi is supposed to open Paint. It's possible that for some reason this failed and may have softlocked the game.

Would you mind sending me your player.log file? That might help me see exactly what is the issue.

1) Open the game and reach the line where it gets softlocked
2) Go to C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME\AppData\LocalLow\DoctorShinobi\Outcore and find Player.log
3) Send it to [e-mail]

I'll let you know what I find

It'll be because Paint isn't installed on my system. Windows 11 allows you to uninstall the app. Might want to make that a pre-req check during install or something.

Thanks, I'll re-install Paint from the Microsoft Store to resolve.

I haven't tried this, but does Lumi handle "Show desktop icons" being switched off?

Nope. She would still ask for the file. I can't forcefully turn it on, so I don't know what would be a good solution to this.

I disable my avast and open the game again. Now Lumi can open paint :D

Could show the Desktop in Windows Explorer, which will always show desktop icons regardless of that setting. Honestly though, just having her mention it would likely be reminder enough for anyone who has turned it off.

That's a good idea. Might be a bit complex to implement, but if this ever becomes high priority then I might implement it. Thanks!

Hey. Do you have Paint installed? This issue happens when it's not present on the computer, which is not normally something that should happen.

If you're still willing to give the game a try, you can skip this part of the game using the debug menu:
Open the game, press Shift + Q Q Q, set the stage to "desktop 1" and entry point to 9, then click on "change entry point".

My Problem was that i have no installed Paint to, because i have uninstall it long time ago. Didnt see a fix in this thread so i thought there is no fix.

I will contenue playing, because i like the idea and the humor.

Yep had the same issue, maybe some sort of requirements should be included before playing?
