This worked for me:
Quick fix go to properties in steam game list list set launch options
add this -dx10
or roll back your driver the newer drivers cause this error had same issue with my games when drivers updated

When you've Got fatal error do not Press ok, switch a Window by alt+tab and quick run to Save game.. game still work next 1-2 minutes. Good luck. my game still crashing as well

Getting the same error on latest drivers; I have yet to play the game.
