I'll save a full review for the full release, but so far I have really been enjoying this early version! I have 51 hours in the first kickstarter demo, that's more than I put into some finished games, so I think it's definitely worth your time to try it out if you like building vehicles.

So far it's very much like an improved version of Terratech or Crossout, you build vehicles in a late-1800s/early-1900s military style and use them to complete missions and kill other vehicles. The editor is easy to use, combat feels nice with both small and big guns, pretty much every design you can think of will work in combat, and I can't think of any other games that will let you build half-tracked amphibious battleships. The physics are very well optimized too, you won't have to worry about building something so big it crashes the game.

There are a few problems tho. The mirror function in the editor is basically broken, you can't fire most guns into the air without aiming at a solid target (so there's no leading your shots against airships), some of the small guns have such short range that they're entirely useless, there is an arbitrary limit on the number of wheels/treads you can put onto a single landship, and there's way too much indestructible coral in the ocean that literally does more damage than torpedoes if you touch it. But overall it's very fun to build things and test them out against enemies.

NEEDS SOME SERIOUS WORK. comtrols are terrible enemy AI are stupid. my tutorial target killed themselves multiple times before i could complete the tutorial etc. It has a future but needs work

Think Crossout meets Terratech meets Roblox. Unfortunately in no way does this game exceed the best attributes of any of these titles. Let me explain.

Crossout - Game is similar in modules as Generators explode etc. But the UI for builing in DieselPunk is horrendous, targeting is terrible, and you cant program different firing groups etc.

terratech - Game is similar on how everything in boxy, and controls are laggy and lack a certain smoothness in controls. for instance there are 2 propellers for water movement, and they both have different controls for forward. (one drives forward when pressing forward, one goes backwards when pressing forward) Also the "gameplay" is somehow worse then the lacklustre missions in terratech.

roblox - the game to me feels like its designed for children with mom and dads credit card in hand, enticing in advert only, and incomplete when installed.

Just realized this is a playway S.E. title. that explains it.

It's a nice premise with decent animation/art, but there's a massive amount of bugs and lag, a lack of any real campaign and ugly menu/control/tutorial popups. Basically, this game is not ready to be played. I'll check it out again in a few months, but right now, it's unplayable.

Right now there isn't much to see here so far. It's an early access game in a very early state, and you also see that. You will stumble over a few bugs and propably one or two crashes.

About the gameplay: The Prologue contains most of the things, it promises which is the almost complete builder. However I must say that I haven't noticed any new blocks since the first Demo. (Correct me if I'm wrong.)
Vehicles you can build so far are airships, aeroplanes, helicopters, landships, any form of watercrafts and submarines,

What can you do so far?
Next to the builder there isn't exactly deep gameplay YET. The map contains a bunch of smaller islands and a large marine area. You can spawn AI opponents manually or by driving over specific areas. Fighting feels a little dry right now and it might remind you to Terra-Tech. These battles are fought with a wide pallete of weapons from small machine guns over rocket launchers, mortars and torpedos to battle-ship sized turrets. Each of these weapons feels quite unique. On the other side, you got the choice of three different materials so far. Wood, iron and steel. While wood is the lightest material, it barely manages to widstand projectiles. Iron and steel are booth able to deflect shells. However they have more weight which means you cant make a whole vehicle of steel.

I will update this review later when the game goes into early access. It's a demo so just try it yourself.
There isn't much to say yet, but there is still room of improvements, which will for sure come with the time.

Very well done! This is a pure combat game that reminds me of robocraft. Build war machines and dive straight into the fight.

The tutorials are very good and easy to follow. In the first combat tutorial, I was surprised how hard it was. 4 enemies spawned on all sides and blasted me for a total fight time of about 1/2 second. So I'll call that a steep learning curve.

Visually, it is a very nice Unity environment. Textures and lighting are crisp and modern looking.

Performance was very good. Solid gameplay with no bugs or glitches in my short test.

Though unpolished, buggy, unintuitive and frustrating, this game is a barrel of fun. It's like they took Robocraft, got rid of the ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥ and added a bunch of crazy toys to play with. If you're looking to blow ♥♥♥♥ up in the most bizarre tank you can think of, this is a definite reccomendation

For the devs:
Please for the love of GOD streamline the weapon assignments. I can't tell if I'm gonna drop a bomb or fire a broadside so please clear this up!

This game is what Robocraft wanted to be. I can't wait for the full game to be released, these creators are doing an amazing job!
