I'd say B2 is a much more solid experience though. Last Faith currently has a few design choices that are a bit questionable (no plunge attacks, no crouching attacks, a later-game mechanic that feels half-baked, weird cooldown on dodge>jump>air dash interaction the devs implemented to avoid skips).
The most egregious aspect about The Last Faith is no doubt the parry mechanic (in addition to being a contrived two-button press, you have to be very close to your opponent for it to connect properly) and the healing system, which is ripped straight out from Bloodborne. You can, however, purchase and stack up healing items to mitigate the issue.
This game blows B1 out of the water... Now B2 is more comparable, I still prefer this game because of the leveling system and souls like mechanics that it has (that B2 doesn't) but they are much closer IMO
TLF, I dunno, I personally dont feel any interest in their lore nor their story. The main difference is that both Blasphemous 1&2, there is a town and in that town, you interact with NPC and see how their world change by helping them or donating or something. TLF has that mansion but thats kinda it.
Again personally, playing Blasphemous 1 & 2, I'm always interested in the world story and how f**ked it is but in TLF, its feels more like, "Ok i go here, kill this boss, go here, lvl up, go here kill this boss" mentality than anything
So The Last Faith all the way for me.
When it was originally released, the ONLY fast travel it had was the portals. The church donation fast travel was patched in later in B1's life
Being only able to equip 3 traversal relics (out of 7) at a time, is a pain in the ass.
B1 had an amazing atmosphere and feel to it FAR better than Last Faith.
But combat feels FAR superior in Last Faith, as does exploration and map traversal.
If you prefer story and atmosphere, B1 has this beat. I haven't beaten B2 yet, so can't make a comparison to it.
However in my opinion Last Faith has better combat, exploration, map traversal, and even the overlay map is better than B1/B2.
LF just loses out heavily when it comes to theme and atmosphere...
I personally disagree but I'm also bias and a huge sucker for anything victorian related.
If Blasphemous is S Tier then Blasphemous 2 and Last Faith are A Tier
Its very subjective, both B2 and TLF don't have NG+ etc
