My Nycrux Bomb lost its usefulness

This prevented me from advancing my game. Does anyone know how to deal with this bug?

I have experienced this TWICE in my playthrough so far. The first time, I simply left the room I was in, came back and that solved the issue. The second time, I left and re-entered (even picking up the bomb and leaving the room WITH it), re-loaded the save, restarted the game and none of it worked.

After a little while I resorted to repeatedly trying to break the obstacle by throwing the bomb in different spots (right up against it, on the floor right in front of it, etc.) and miraculously, it eventually worked. I THINK I landed the bomb right on the little circular shaped indentation on the obstacle and THATS when it worked finally, but I can't say for sure. I just hope that whatever the issue is, we learn of a fix soon.
