What's Up With the Hydra?

I remember the trailer showing Eryk fighting the hydra, or at least a hydra in what looks more like an area in Mythringal, it's raining and everything. I beat the Harbinger of Nightmares secret hydra boss, but that was in a very different area. Was the hydra moved there or is there an earlier/different hydra boss that I've missed?

I just killed Laddak and want to finish anything I can before interacting with the statue in the beginning of Oxnevylle's Manor.

The hydra was the biggest bait and switch in history. It was "promotional material" and does not exist in game along with a ton of other content that apparently was cut.

The hydra is in the game as a boss. It's just in a different area.
