Also, it should be noted that most spells scale especially well with Mind (and also Instinct for the lightning ones), much better than you'd expect from their scaling letter. Even after 50 some of them still get 4-5 points of damage, though unless you plan to be full spells you should probably still get out of Mind after 50 and invest in a different damage stat. Some of the later game spells are very strong as well, well worth using. My Illigarth Boreal Blade is only +6, but even still several of my spells deal more damage than regular weapon hits and they hit 4-6 times. Spells are kind of weak in the early game though, mostly due to a lack of Focus. You really need the Focus boost from the first Heart of Nycrux to be able to get a good number of uses out of your spells.
This rule is true for all attributes.
So for damage, I spend 55, maybe 60 if I have free money for that. 70 mind for focus for a heavily spell-casting build.
