Just make sure to cut the unwanted plants (like Tomatoe, Bean and Aloe Vera) that might spawn.
It can be a bit long at the start to get your first thyme, but it will exponentially increase, since plants can "clone" themselves.
Chicken eat green grass and other animals, so you will get only thyme and no grass, and the very useful gallinaceous birds will protect it from the evil beetles !
@bam:bam_gkz We were able to find out a solution a few updates ago. Suggestion: Plant an elm tree as soon as possible in front of your house at a proper time (for me it's 10:30) and remember that time. Beetles and plants will exactly spawn every 24 hours later. Which means you only have one important date a day (for me 10:30). At this time I am beside my favorite elm tree with my axe and wait for the beetle, kill him, cut the grass or other plants than thyme which may try to grow and relaxe again. After a few days you should have enough thyme. IMPORTANT: do not cut the first thyme that grows and never cut all thyme. the more thyme still grows under an elm tree the more will spawn.
I restarted the game again and I am on day 9 and there are 8 thyme near the favorite tree.
edit: thanks to klaus' advice, 3 days later and I have so much thyme that I'm embarassed that I even complained about it... thanks again :)
1- save the game
2- go to directory
C:\Users\[YourUserName]\AppData\LocalLow\Zerone Games\Green Project\SaveFiles
3- copy and edit file GameSave.xml
4- change values of tags
<hunger>99.0</hunger>
<thirst>99.0</thirst>
<toxicity>0.0</toxicity>
<exhaustion>99.0</exhaustion>
5- multiply food like "Ration Militaire"
<itemName>Ration Militaire</itemName>
<amount>99</amount>
<durability>100</durability>
6- save your file, then reload your game from this file
I exactly tried to to this.
But seriously: For every Thyme that spawns, another one vanishes.
Often I thought to myself: Oh I better should have harvested it before it disappears.
But the Grass-Removing has to be refreshed/updated like 3Times per Day.
I tried the Same at the Place in East-Southeast, where the other Thyme grows.
It's still a Matter of Luck if more Thyme spawns than is removed by me or the Game itself. "Cloning" does not work to me.
Edit: I just realised that Beetles eat Thyme aswel. Well, this is stupid, because, as others mentioned, they need like 30 Cypresses for each Elm, to get enough Lizards to control the Beetle population.
I usually beat all the Beetles (BEATLES, lol) I find, cuz it's the best Food before my first Corn is ready to harvest.
Hey, you're right, you need a lot of cypress, to get enough lizards. Thyme disappears only because it is eaten by a beatle. So if you have enough chickens and lizards, it should work. That's what I did.
It works so well, that there isn't any grass left in the pen but only thyme, so your chicken might die of starvation :)
It works for other plants as well ! I'm currently using chickens for yellow flowers (to have enough beehive to make the ecosystem sustainable) works great too.
@versper63
Ah ah, I have tested a lot of cheats myself xD. You can even manually add a few thymes to your elm trees (if you're really desperate) !
