Normal lifespan for a pig?

I'm guessing this will take a while but the second step for the "offering" requires me to give it 50 dead pigs. It's been many days already and I have had only 4 dead pigs. I was expecting it to be a little longer than a chicken but this is really taking a while.

Unless I just take my hammer and get it over with.

I have farms but seams not to work for me so i will better build 25 traps.

I only did one test with the pigs. It takes two pigs to get one piglet. After that, the pigs die and only the piglet survives. Not a good starting position for pig breeding.

Okay but I am sure I have more than 50 pigs in the pen but they are not dying of natural causes. So I had to end their lives early with a hammer.

I'm serious, they just stayed alive for many days after giving birth. I don't think this is normal. I think this might be another bug.

The pigs are dying, but their life cycle seem many times longer compared to chicken and rats. I started three farms in parallel for chicks, pigs and rats. I have 80 Chicken offered to the tree thing, about 40 rats and only 11 pigs since the start. i didn`t started the farms with the exact same numbers of animals etc. but the same time. so they only give a rough idea about the individual lifespan. So one should definetly work in addition with traps to boost the pig numbers.

By the way. Never put rats and pigs together in one space. Seriously, the rats started killing the pigs. Damn monster rats! :D
