We have discussed pedals before. This would be the only way to drive excavators realistically. But complicated to build, and not everyone has room for a second set of pedals under the gaming desk...
I have set up controls to work like RL here in europe in ISO controls for boom/stick/bucket/svivel.
Track steering a little more complex, but setup this way:
Left TCA ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Hat Up/Down = Left Track F/R
Right TCA ♥♥♥♥♥♥ Hat Up/Down = Right Track F/R
Throttle pedal = Tracks Arcade Forward
Clutch pedal = Tracks Arcade Backwards
That way i can go F/R with the entire EX just using pedals and turn using more or less any combination of pedal and or ♥♥♥♥♥♥ hat input i need like.
Yeah, I also read your thread. I concur with you that two direction pedals would definitely solve this problem. We can only hope this series can someday be as popular as farming simulator that Logi or some other brands will provider this product just as their "heavy equipment bundle"
Before they do that, one solution is to use the H-pattern scheme: forward/backward directions of the stick control the wheels, left/right directions control arms (left lever) and tilt (right lever) respectively. However, I would still prefer ISO...
