Is the service truck worth it?
Does it cost more to get your vehicles repaired at the job site using the service truck? Or would it be cheaper to just store them and let the mechanic refuel and repair them? Not too mention the cost of the truck, if it saves money it would be quite a while before you got a return on the investment.

It's cheaper to do nothing and just let the machines run out of gas. Unless it was changed in the latest patch, running out of gas doesn't actually stop you from working. Running out of durability doesn't do anything either.

Okay thanks

Though the point about running the machine out of fuel/durability is a valid point, I'm a cheapskate in the game and until now have been just transporting the machines back to the HQ and letting them refuel and repair for free -- does the service truck 'charge' the prices for repairs/fuel at the HQ or the gas station? (Or a third tier of pricing in-between) I'd have to do some testing once I get the service truck.

Just starting out so need company milestones. If I get a service truck does it count on the milestone to get a fuel tank for company or do I have to fill up at the gas stations?

Not yet...but according to plan this will get implemented via update at a later time. :-)

i have service vehicle and it is nice to have it. i do not need to drive extra to gasstation to refuel or repair.

I park my service vehicle next to slot where machines are returned to home base and leave it in 'service mode' vs driving mode. When I return my machine home I don't have to drive it anywhere because service vehicle is right next to it. I fill up only and let the mechanic repair it for free while it is stored. This works great especially for slow tracks.

I have it memorized when I return vehicle to home base. 'T' to fill up, 'G' to exit and '3' to store. So it is T, G, 3 - kinda catchy.

Price suppose to be cheaper at home base only. According to the Upgrade Level, it is 20% less

Now that i read the upgrade level it seems like just storing machines will fill them up. hmm guess i need to try that instead.

Also an advantage of service truck is for track machines, easier to drive service truck to track machine than other way around.

Yes it does, and sending back to HQ is still way cheaper than the service truck.

I think there should be changes to make the service truck more appealing.

On the one hand, maybe lower the servicing cost from the truck (maybe through milestone bonuses or something else). Or maybe add a free "passive servicing" that would service unused vehicles near the service truck, at the same rate the HQ auto-servicing.

On the other hand, maybe nerf the passive servicing from HQ, making it much slower, as right now it's by far and large the best way to service vehicles.
