C'mon devs, don't force anyone to sit through that every launch.
All that stuff does is annoy people and waste time. There is a reason "skip intro" and the likes are very popular search terms and/or mods
So yes, 5 minutes might be an exaggeration, but good grief it does take forever to actually get into the game.
The delay is caused by the game and its data being loaded.
The screens are only there so you have something to look at, instead of just a progress bar.
Take Cyberpunk 2077 for instance. Same amount of legal warnings and company logo screens before you get to the main menu. However if you get the mod that removes them you get to said menu within 5 seconds of clicking start game in steam.
Granted that Red Engine and Unity are two entirely different engines, but until I see for myself that the time to menu is the same without these screens I'm calling nonsense.
(2077 isn't the only game, just the most extreme case that comes to mind right now.)
