The real % of work you have to do for a task can be different for each contract, it is not fixed in the game but it is chosen by the author of each contract.
At first it was a relief when i had to excavate a huge pit and the game would accept when i had excavated about 80%.
Now i think it's irritating that it won't let me finish the excavation.
The tolerance to 100% is VERY loose and it makes the game about unplayable.
Same with concrete pouring, asphalt paving, compacting soil/asphalt, and even crane working, i just have to pick up pre fabricated wall (for example) and just bash it loosely into it's preferred space and unhook it from crane.
Solution would be to have a setting that let's me pick if i would want to have the loose or tight tolerance gameplay.
For example the excavation/concrete pouring to be about 95-98% of the real need of the work, instead of 80% wich is bs.
And for the crane work, when the piece (wall example) is more than 50% in it's preferred space, then it would accept the piece in it's place. Now you just have to have the piece slightly touching the preferred space with a corner and it accepts.
Concrete pouring is general with a lower tolerance of about 85-95%.
For cranes job scope indeed doesnt affect how precisely you need to place the objects, but how many of those needed to be placed must be place. And this is accross the board 100% requirement, no tolerance whatsoever.
If you place them precisely is more a matter of roleplay.
