Construction Simulator

No transportation need makes it dull and simplified.
With the fee for fast travel being near zero even for heavy machinery, and with the ability to instant-fill dumptrucks with gravel and such, the game has become extremely simplistic. I liked the approach towards realism with refueling, maintenance et.c, but this instant teleportation at practically zero expense makes it too dull to play.

Even worse in multiplayer since one of the time consuming tasks is transporting materials, offloading dirt from a dig site or getting in gravel and concrete to the job site.

But in this version of construction sim everything is done with a few clicks and magically all materials, pallets, dirt, gravel and everything just magically appears at the job site.

I found this to be the most disappointing thing about the game.

Even more so that there is no option to disable fast travel and instant refilling of vehicles. I get fast travel on foot, but not with heavy machinery.

At least it should be an option to disable, or to change the cost to have it make an actual financial impact to constantly teleport stuff direct to site.

100% agree. There should be option in the setting to change the difficulty or realism mode. Rather than taking away or only having one giving players options is always better for more casual players and sim players.

But you don't have to use this option, do you?

Personally, I don't think it's a bad thing that I can empty my truck at the push of a button on the construction site, for example, instead of having to drive to the gravel plant 100 times.

I get that a fixed set of rules/options would be nice so you are not even tempted or misclick by accident. Some people need those superimposed rules instead of just making them up for themselves so maybe they will add it as an option.

I was planning on playing sim style and drive everywhere, but the traffic light situation was quite bad so I shelved that idea for the other map where they hopefully have addressed the issue.

Meanwhile you could disable traffic. Just pretend it's August 2020 and everyone is confined indoors...

Other sliders/options that would make sense is to set how accurate you must be with the cranes and what percentage is required to complete a flattening.

You arent forced to use the auto fill but i for one dont want to drive all the way back to the gravel plant AND back for the 8% more sand i need to dump in the trench

This. The ongoing regression of games over the decades has been a continual effort to make things more accessible, while not adding options to disable these things for others. It only moves in one direction. It's annoying.

thb , its not because the option is there that you have to use it

its a construction simulator not a delivery simulator, do you think a builder goes and gets every item of material when they are working on a job ?
Chacal Sep 23, 2022 @ 10:37am
Precisely. The builder orders materials to be delivered to the construction site. We can do this now with CS2022, we can order all materials for the whole contract if we want.
Enrik Sep 23, 2022 @ 11:01am
Exactly. And with a bit of luck, the delivery zone is so far away from the stationary crane that you can't reach all the delivered materials and therefore have to bring a mobile crane or an excavator to the construction site. Yes, that's what I experienced on my last construction site, unfortunately. =(

I agree, but with that they would have to up the pay for the contracts as well. If you were to make this as realistic as we can for the proper sim game-play, I would like to have a multiplayer game with at least 2 concrete trucks working in tandem to fill - travel and unload into the pump. But If you start renting multiple mixers, multiple trucks to keep the flow going, you would break even or lose money on the contract.

I post earlier how it would be nice to have a very large set of jobs set up for multiplayer with enough pay so we can have a full fleet of vehicles traveling for each player to keep the operation moving.

If it's anything like CS2015, after a week or 2 you'll have so much money you won't be able to spend it all. I must have nearly 100 million in my CS2015 profile. I had a lot of vehicles stored away for big MP contracts.

You cant even put the larger excavators (the Atlas and bigger) on the F**king only vehicle trailers available in game.... you are literally FORCED to use fast travel, unless you enjoy driving 4-9 km/hr across the entire city and waiting at ridiculously long traffic lights
