Thanks.

Everyone in the Empire can suffer three "lesser deaths", with the exception of people (humans or Arknians) in positions of power: the Emperor, Overseers, Patriarchs etc.

Robert Brante's first wife (Amelie i think) dies when giving birth to Stephan. Why isnt she reborn? Does that mean she spent her four death when giving birth?

That was her first death. The only real answer is is that the Twins took her for whatever reason.

Sometimes people who die of sickness (or in childbirth) are not reborn. The general idea is that the Twins will bring you back if you don't have enough life experience to be judged properly. But dying of sickness is an exception, for whatever reason.

So in general, you are reborn from fatal damage (mortal wounds, accidents etc) but not from disease (plague, fatal sickness, birth deaths etc) . I wonder why. This brings another question: why one risk his/her life to save other when every person have 4 lives? (Well this is not the primary question for the topic)

>> wonder why
Nobody knows for sure. The Twins work in mysterious ways ;)

>>why risk your life to save other
Well, when a person dies, they still "spend" a life, so they have less options to evade True Death later. Also, even a lesser death can be quite traumatic, as meeting the Twins is not exactly an easy experience. Basically, you can save other from trauma.

I spend my life to prevent Trauma :D Hell with that.
If A God or Gods give every person to number of lives. Every living mortal should spend it wisely. But again its not the aspect of my question. I just didn't understand the way of Deaths (either be it lesser of True)

I think the developers explained that if you get sick and slowly start dying, it's not a sign of being sick affecting your health but rather a sign that the twins are bringing you to the pillar and being sick is a sign that your death is approaching to give everyone the appropriate amount of time to settle affairs.

From what I understand, Robert's first wife simply had spend her previous lives before (or so TV Tropes says). It's also worth noting that, judging by the ending results of very low Wealth of Magra, people only suffer lesser deaths from starvation.

Arknians and powerful humans only get one life. Also, being executed in a Lawful way (note, there's a lot of wiggling room for what "Lawful" is here - mob rule applies as well, as the last chapter shows) will also be a True Death regardless of how many lives you have left.
