Is it possible to both unite the family and get it ennobled by the sword?

If you unite the family the family's reputation drops to 0 by default because of Gloria getting adopted. Her existence is a source of shame in the Brante family. She has to leave the household in order for the Brante's to be ennobled. Getting married but maintaining contact with her is probably the best way to get ennobled and for Gloria to have her own happy ending.

You unite the family, you adopt Gloria, which leads to a Mark of Disgrace.
Not marrying Gloria off while not adopting her either is also a bad choice. In that case, Stephan tries to marry her off on his own, Gloria freaks out and runs away from home, damaging both Unity and Reputation.

If you want to be ennobled, marry her off.

I wish there's a plot where you could prove that Gloria is a product of rape and therefore not the Brante family's problem.

I honestly had the feeling that otton is her father the whole game, and that speaking of it would cause the execution of the whole family. I expected it to be a major plot twist. but nothing came of it.

good question. since there aren't any ark-mans, either they can't, or they get inquisitioned.
like how the inquisition orders all those who saw witch kid to never speak of it.
it's possible for them to get intimate, and be atracted to each other, as seen with octavia

I tried doing a playthrough where I screw the family to death.
mom died.
sister got coerced into an unwanted marriage.
killed brother in duel.

and after all of that! I failed to get ennobled by the sword, and the family fell apart.
dad went to live alone in another city. which is good, because at least, I hope, he never knew his daughter commited suicide in the epilogue.

oh well. at least I'm the prefect now and I got to stab otton.
stabbing otton is tight!

If I remember correctly, by the time of Gloria's wedding, you need Unity 7 or higher. After that, you can challenge Stephan to a duel and kill him (-2 Unity), which also means you can't save your mother later (-2 Unity). If you had Unity 7, after all that ♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥♥, it will drop to 3 - barely enough to be Ennobled.

Although, personally, I find it simpler (and more satisfying) to get Rep 9 or higher by the time of the wedding. Enough to maintain ties with Gloria and still be Ennobled.

Getting ennobled by the sword may be the hardest thing to achieve in the whole game, so prepare for it. I think I had to try like 7 times to get it.

Indeed, especially if you want to play at least a moderately decent person and not screw everyone over for Reputation.

did you manage to become the heir as well?
I don't think I'm ever going to.
I already went rebel noble and empire noble, and got full of the game for now.
when I feel like replaying the game in the future I'll do lotless and priest routes.

I saw in the empire noble route that a few choices are locked to being enobled by the sword, and somehow managing to make otton like you. I guess by completely dropping the charges.

would love a summary of what happens when you become the heir or sword family, and what happens when you give ex-octavia to otton.
Did the give to inquisition and left a trace routes.

Noble path is the hardest in the game imo, so don't blame yourself or the game. It's a hard Lot to live by)

I do blame the game for not having a cheat mod post game function to allow me to experience some parts of the story I'm curious about without starting over and maybe using a guide.
If the game had some great gameplay this would be forgivable, but this is completely not fun to restart the game and pass hundreds of pages just to min max in order to be able to read 5-10 pages

PS: I was honestly enthralled by the game during my first playthrough and a little after, but I got burned out when it turned into 100% min maxing and 0% story immersion and roleplaying. (which is what is required to be the heir of sword ennobled family I think)
