Helping Sophia escape Otton
So I was doing a new run, this time focused on helping the Lotless, for which I tried to raise Perception as much as possible and I arrive at the Help Sophia from Otton quest. I get 3 options out of 4 which are to Hide, Distract Otton and Help Sophia escape.

I look over the Consequences to see which one brings more benefit between Distract and Help and to my shock I see that the result is the same except 1 difference. I lose 5 willpower if I help Sophia myself rather than distract Otton.

I really feel that in this case, some other benefit should be added, like +1 to Perception or something else because it doesn't make sense to try and help Sophia yourself and get nothing out of it. It's also more difficult to unlock helping her than it is to distract.

Yeah, it's one of the moments of lame consequence design in game. I did help her escape though, since it fitted my character better than distracting Otton (I also like narrative of "help escape" more).

I don't think the game only goes by stat rewards, but for narrative rewards as well. Are you willing to get a little less of a stat outcome for a more satisfying narrative outcome? To have meaningful choices, there must be a weight of gain versus loss. I think the game does this well.

I understand what you mean but the thing is, for me at least, when I reached that point and saw the rewards, it completely took me out of the narative. I understand why you would lose willpower, since you have to navigate the streets and backalleys. But I also feel that this way, you should also gain at least Perception, maybe even -1 in Family Reputation if anyone recognizes you.

Don't get me wrong, I like this game a lot, especially now on a Lotless run. But that mission just gave me such a WTF moment, that it almost made me rage quit.
