TLD Meuse v3.52 Mod Available!

CHANGES IN v3.52 - Oct. 2020:

1) Added 1 German air supply drop per day (Campaign.txt). Historically neither side did this but the German's with air supiority could have.
2) Added 2eDCR strat BGicon (ScrnGadg.gdg). Note: it is not used in any Battle, Op or Campaign at this time
3) Added leaves around trees on Maubeuge and Namur
4) Added missing trees on Mons (Hyon)
5) Adjusted air/artillery support quantity slightly up for the Germans and down for the French and reduced offboard artillery strength slightly down
6) Changed Montherme map, the military equipment West of town are now small bunkers
7) Changed to TLD v5.50.32 CCResourceDLL.dll to get the new Options Scale Front End, Scale UI, etc. available when running the mod.
8) Changed the strat layer graphics to properly show Vresse and Sugny connecting
9) Converted the CC5 Meuse intro videos from .avi to .wmv so they work on Windows 10/TLD
10) Updated the North Campaign;
11) Updated the Center Campaign;
12) Updated the South Campaign;

Matrix/Steve has acknowledged a problem with the /D switch for mods on the Matrix forum (post 16); https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4883551&mpage=1&key=&#4905598

He also provided a work around. I have updated the Launcher.exe file for Meuse and added Steam Users Instructions (post 2 using the link below); https://www.matrixgames.com/forums/tm.asp?m=4904757&mpage=1&key=&#4905621

The launcher issue has been fixed;

The Slitherine Launcher for The Longest Day has been updated - it will now pass the Steam "Launch Options" string through to the game. This makes it easier to use Close Combat mods under the Steam version of The Longest Day but has no direct effect on the game itself.

I am now playing the Stalingrad mod FOR CC:TLD, but since the latest patch this week I can not launch it anymore. Is there any way to help me fix this?

I have the Matrix version of TLD and both TLD Meuse along Stalingrad mods are still working after installing the latest patch. So it must be to do with how Steam version starts the CCE.exe with the /D option for the mods....

is there any error message or does it just start the standard game every time now?

It doesn't launch anymore. When I use the desktop shortcut to launch the Stalingrad mod it now gives me this error:

Failed to initialise Steam

I have not tried other mods as I was currently only playing the Stalingrad mod.

Uninstall and reinstall the mod

I uninstalled (used the correct uninstall.exe) and reinstalled the mod but the problem remains.

The Stalingrad shortcut opens a error window saying "Failed to initialise Steam"

I have tried the Meuse mod, Der Kessel and Kharkov mod.
All of them give me the same error message since the last mini patch.

"Failed to initialize Steam" either means you are trying to start the game without the Steam client running, or if you do have the Steam client running, Steam itself is preventing the external launch.

Make sure Steam is running. If it is and you're still getting the error, try re-creating the desktop short-cut and see if that works.

The recommended approach is to use the Steam 'Launch option':

- In Steam, Right click The Longest Day in your Library
- Click "Properties..."
- Select "General"
- Under "Launch Options" enter "/D <path to your mod>"

Then click "Play" to start the game and it should load with the mod. Clear the "Launch Options" field to play the stock game.

Hi. It seems it it very difficult to kill tanks in this fine MOD. Is there anywhere I can change that?
