PS buttons, Not XBOX buttons when using PS5 controller on steam
I'm having a time getting the PS buttons to show up when using a Dualsense controller, on steam. I have no idea where the A B and Y buttons are, and the X button is somehow linked to square. Is there a way to turn these on properly for a PS controller?

Blame steam for that one. I use a PS5 controller on some of my games as well and it's always those damn xbox buttons. Steam is to blame from what I can tell. Would love a solution if someone has one.

I've had other games reflect them properly. I'm waiting it out to see if it's something I can fix, they can fix. of If I just refund in a few days, and get it on PS5.

Better luck than me! I have yet to have a single game of mine show PS controls. Even change the controller layout thing that you can download. It says PS5, but it shows Xbox.

I hope you find a solution, if you do post it here please. I am sure we aren't the only two that would love our proper controls to be shown haha.

I don't remember where I found it but a friend uses a PS controller and this is what we did to make games reflect the proper prompt for him

" So if you're using a PS4, but seeing Xbox buttons on-screen, here's what you need to do:

- Open Steam

- Click "Library"

- Right-click on game you're playing

- Click “Properties”

- Under the "General" tab, look for the "Steam Input Per Game" option near the bottom (requires you to restart the game)

- Click the drop-down and change it to "Forced Off"

This is what worked for me so if you're having the same problem, hopefully it will work for you as well. "

Unfortunately this option isn't there for PD3.

Good looking out. Worked great.

The X button is Square because the X button on an xbox controller is the button on the left. A is X, X is Square, Y is Triangle, B is Circle

Its not a problem for me because ive used both Playstation and Xbox controllers meaning that i know that if a game says to press Y; that its telling me to press Triangle for instance.
I wonder how you cope with using emulators lol because emulators ofcourse always show different buttons to the ones that you have on your controller

What's an Emulator?

Blame the devs. It's the devs that decide if Xbox and/or PS buttons show up in their games. Very few games on PC bother to make PS buttons show up in their games which just makes no sense in this day and age.

I agree, I'm hoping someone either has a solution, or the devs pull their thumb out, and fix it.
Clock is ticking on this refund. The main reason I got this on Steam over PS5 to begin with was I loved all the creative mods on PD2, which never happened on PS3/4. But it's starting to look like that's not going to happen with PD3.
Even a good Mod would patch this issue right out.
I had hopes for the solution posted above, but it looks like it's for a steam client from a year or so back. I can't find that option under "General".

That actually is not Steam's fault at all it's Overkill's.
RGG (the Yakuza guys) never has any problem showing the controller appropriate icons in their games. Even Hello Games knows how to do it right... Not sure why you think this is on Steam when there's mad games on Steam that show the right prompts.... (or how "you can tell" for that matter lmfao)

I am. Somewhat... When you're my age you still have the games in their original platforms.
This isn't helping me try to find how to get PS icons for PS buttons, on a game that is supposed to support PS Controllers.

Overall rating of this game so far. 2/10 Wouldn't recommend. Splash screen is nice.
Inability to play because I have a controller preference, -8
