Game needs a major performance update
The game graphically isn't intensive yet it runs worse than most triple a games released in the past years.
Im running a 7950x 64g ram 4080 system
And here is what performance I get

1080p ultra no rest for the wicked
60-100fps
30-35% gpu usage
10% cpu usage
99% fps 20
Fps on this hiest is god awful
Even on low graphics I can't achieve a consistent 120fps on 1080p

Road rage however
1080p ultra
I have no problem capping my fps at 120
Even 144fps
Gpu usage is very similar
I saw 40%
And cpu 10%
99% fps still goes pretty low at about 30-40fps
On low graphics gpu usage is less however frame rate is virtually the same.

Dirty ice
1080p ultra
100-120fps
Drops a little at the beginning but I have no problem playing at a consistent 120fps
Not 144 though
Gpu usage is about 30-35%
And cpu 10%
Low graphics helps with the slight drop at the beginning but doesn't get me to the 144fps mark.

Rock the cradle 1080p ultra
90-120fps
Fps drop at the beginning but starts to smooth out
Can play mostly at 120fps but 144fps even on low is not enough
Gpu usage is 30-40%
Cpu 10%
And again graphics hardly change anything.

Do I even need to continue?
Performance isn't good for my system which realistically should be pulling more frames.
The reason is dx11 and rhe poor optimization
4090s 4080s 4070s 3090s 3080s
Will all peform very similar
You might see the some few say "i get 144fps on 1440p performance is good"
Yeah they don't!
Maybe on dx12 they do but not on dx11
Why don't I use dx12 ?
Well its not currently supported
And can be a bit more unstable when it comes to stutters

So what does starbreeze need to do ?
Add proper support for dx12
So people on older hardware and more modern hardware can play the game and enjoy it with better performance.
Maybe add vulkan too
Whatever they decide the game needs !
Dx12 gives way better Performance
If I enable it through steam I have no problem playing at a consistent 165+ fps ultra
Its just not stable enough and stutters like crazy and you risk crashing.

Yeah the Dx11 performance is pathetic and my rtx 3090 is often below 60% utilization even if using Dx12 @ WQHD.

for some reason whenever i walk pass pearl or joy head my fps drop down to like 5 fps

yeh dx12 literally doubles performance for me. they'd be stupid not to implement it officially

The game isn't poorly optimized, it isn't optimized at all!

After each failure and level restart, my frametimes are all over the place and fps tanks severely.

lol its optimised for consoles you wonder why were getting issues.. were literally being bottle necked because they had to go cross platform.. its stupid that were down grading our hardware to suit ps/xbox specs so stupid grrr

Its kinda funny when the devs say DX12 is not officially supported,
yet DX11 which is supported runs terrible compared to DX12.

Its okay after they finally give us the 1st patch
And after they've tried selling us dlc and micro transactions
Only then will they start to work on performance.
