I have a nagging suspicion that they only have servers in the US and certain EU countries but none anywhere else. As such, the latency very much depends on how "close" (in terms of internet gateway traffic routing) we are to their servers. They want us to only play on their dedicated servers, fine. But they should at least have servers in every country and not try and squeeze the rest of the world into the US.
I don't think OVK will say anything about it because they are afraid that telling the truth would turn away international players.
Then i check twitch streams and to my frustrations, the people playing there have ZERO issues it seems. So wtf is going on?
With everyone referencing Frame drops as "LAG" you dont get a good answer on latency/ping, like lag isn't graphical, never has been.
How bout Hitching vs Stuttering vs Lag vs FPS drops?
(thank god I rarely have to differentiate 3 of these when trying to help a friend/client troubleshoot remotely, though it can be hard to tell sometimes if someone needs faster storage or to turn settings down)
Oh boy....
Payday 2 always had voice chat fam.
I play with a controller so it is my preferred communication method. (also stopping to type to communicate was always stupid)

literal video proof of voice chat in game.
Even stranger, after the second crash a grey box popped up and asked me what I was doing before the crash. The unreal engine symbol was in the corner of the box ( very tiny and almost missed it ). A space in the bottom of the box was full of error info that started with the word Epic. I should have saved a screenshot. Still, no luck after staying up till 5 a.m. troubleshooting everything I could. Lowest graphics setting, throttled FPS to 120, internet quality checked, removed almost every device connected to my internet, and switched internet providers ( I have 2 as a backup for my wife's job. Both Century Link and another I won't name for security ), closed down auto-updates, closed all background processes I could, and checked for updates for both the steam program as well as Payday 3 itself.
I've only ever had a ping issue with RUST. At least in that case a patch was release very quickly and it was actually mentioned in online forums such as this. This one was started a month ago. I've not run into posts about this problem anywhere recent. Other than deleting the game, what is the next move? I'm going to make a new thread about this as well.
This does not prove that there is voice chat in the game, as there is no visual in-game indicator for voice chat.
Look at the colored dots for my Teammates; they turn into speech bubbles with an exclamation point every time one of them talks.
This does remind me I should hit up Azorian and see how they're doing; it's been a minute.
Anyway, it was a pleasure proving you wrong again.
That is not part of the vanilla game but a mod that creates this visual indicator for you. Therefore this in no way proves that there really is voice chat in the game - since the dialog we are hearing could be from an other application or even edited into the footage.
This is why this can not be used as proof for voice chat actually being in the game.
WolfHUD does not pull from external apps.
Ask literally any Payday 2 veteran from post-HoxHUD era and they will tell you that's just WolfHUD.
You're reaching really hard right now man.
I'm half tempted to spend 2 hours reinstalling Payday 2 just to take a screenshot of the audio menu to shut your stupid arguments down permanently. Payday 2 has voice chat. Period.
Rather than waste my time, here's a post from TWO THOUSAND AND FIFTEEN where players were discussing voice chat.

And even Payday 1 had voice chat:

And one last one before I go:

Even the Switch version was SUPPOSED to get it until they abandoned the Switch version.
That is interesting but can you prove that these people aren't just simply roleplaying? It is a common occurence, especially in internet forums, to roleplay certain scenarios that do not actually depict the truth.
Just because Payday 1 had voice chat, that doesn't mean Payday 2 has to have voice chat.
This one almost convinces me, but I am not too sure about this one, since it is an article. It might just be badly researched, IGN is especially known for that.
Obvious bait is obvious. You wanna push it or did you get it all out of your system?
