How long? Will we get it with the Year 2 Anniversary?
No excuse.... this game launch with no feature at all. This is a coop game... voice chat should have been there since the beginning... now they announce the feature... only to be half baked.
I played PD2 a lot, I bought PD3 deluxe edition hoping this game was going to be great. Trust me I want to love this game. But the development of this game is just abysmal and is a shame for everyone involved.
I launch a few lobbies today and all I got was background noise, kids screaming, dishes noises and when I asked people if they could manage the background noise, they wouldn't even answer. So their microphone is on, we hear ALL the background noise, but when I ask the player a question... they are too busy or shy to answer... that itself isn't a problem... but it is BECAUSE this game doesn't allow to use push to talk....
screw this game
It really is. I cannot believe we went from PD2 to that PD3.... it is a downgrade on every single aspect... except maybe graphics.
It might sound petty but I am not touching the game until they fix it and add push to talk/self mute. I am not disabling my mic just for one game.
That's how well thought out this feature (that should have been there since launch) was.
The code length for the implementation in UE4 is no less than four lines long. you have to let that sink in.
4 lines of code

When a gaming studio lacks the sort of talent required to build a fully fleshed out game... they really shouldn't be making a game, period, and focus on talent acquisition and retention before even trying to release a product.
Yet here we are.

Also the reason why you don't have Push-To-Talk is because your data is being sold out to Tencent and likely many other companies. You're connecting to Starbreeze's servers & service after all, it ain't hard to scrape all the meaningless chat logs or even recorded voice logs and sell them to companies in order to train AI or some other ♥♥♥♥.
