I have over 2,000 hours in Payday 2 so I liked Payday 2 just a bit... I hated Payday 3 so much that I removed it from my steam library. Search the forums, my post on how to remove the game from your library is still around. Also wrote a guide on how to remove but it was removed by a Starbreeze dev because they didn't like it. But I have it up in my artwork.
The problems have been well documented:
1. Server issues - both lack of p2p and no offline mode
2. Bad progression system
3. Poor optimization
4. Poor communication from $tarbreeze on their next plans
5. Poor rollout of patches. And the whole PS5 certification argument they give is just BS. Other games are are on multi-platform and they don't have the certification problem. Or maybe $tarbreeze devs just suck?
6. Broken armor system - They should have kept what they had in PD2.
7. And one from me where I don't see many others complaining about is how slowed down and "defensive" you have to play in Payday 3. Payday 2 - you could run and gun with Akimbo SMGs and easily rack up 200 kills. Payday 3 - you can't run and gun and be offensive-minded. You have to be defensive. Basically, they tried to go for a more realistic approach in Payday 3.
That's just what comes to mind. I'm sure others will give their opinions.
And not to mention the server issues that never were fixed. And besides, there are only 200 players worldwide. You will get always empty lobbies.
seriously just check the negative reviews on steam and you will get your answer lol, it is no mystery what is wrong with this.
simply put online only matchmaking AIDS instead of p2p, not all of the issues but that is the main one besides the whole game being sh1t. the only people defending it at all are normies, shills, or redditoids.
but thanks for the info
From what I have read online, starbreeze really doesnt seem to want to give up on the game. it may be too little too late, but I admire the effort the seem to be putting in, even if it doesnt seem like its paying off
- there is almost no difficulty scaling, maps are almost the same no matter what difficulty you play them on (except for the nightclub map, the only difficulty changes are sometimes more guards and cameras and maybe adding a guard you are not allowed to down, which does not change up your playstyle)
- there is almost no reward scaling and optional rewards are completely worthless (there is no reason why you would ever collect loose cash or optional loot bags, unless you want an achievment)
- there is no lobby system, your only way to play public multiplayer is trying to hot join a random game of your selected map and difficulty, and as you cant see which map and difficulty has currently a game open that is searching for players, you have no way of finding a match with a full team, you will mostly just end up alone
- there is very little to progress towards (almost no cosmetics in the store, very little weapons, you have nothing to spend your in game money on and the perk system is also very limited and awkward)
- their online only implementation comes with a bunch of problems:
-- lobbies time out after 2 hours, you are not allowed to stay inside of a map for more then that even in single player
-- UI is often unresponsive/ typically needs 10s-5min to actually process and show what you have done when buying currency, modding weapons or leveling up (can take a while until the UI actualy agrees that your account has done changes/ progress)
-- servers are quite unreliable to this day, server maintenace regularly takes hours in which the game is unplayable
-- even getting into a single player game can sometimes take a minute of online matchmaking, I assume their server needs to find space for your game?
- its a live service that does not get regular updates
-- updates are far and few between, almost no content has been added since release
-- game has live service mechanics like weekly log in bonuses (every week you get to acquire a secondary currency) and they are planning to add even more stuff like that, like daily vendor rotations, stretching the very little content the game has even more thin
You can still make posts here. I removed it from my library and here I am talking ♥♥♥♥.
