Do you actually like the game? What would you say can make it better?
And I'm not talking about the arcade god mode shooter some people like about PD2 (which I still think is possible in PD3, not sure), but the lack of playstyles, removal of breaching (let alone new methods of breaching), preplanning, boring skills, and complete lack of innovation is what drew me off. I could sense from a mile away that this game had no replay value like PD2 did.
This is aside from the game's atmosphere; the music, the VAs, the voice lines, and the new characters are just bad.
As far as innovation goes, I think vehicle escapes where one person drives and the others tries to hold off the cops should've been part of every mission. If you failed this part of the mission, you would have to wait for the expert driver like in PD2's Escape side-missions at the end of certain heists. I also think the levels should've been procedurally generated in order to increase the replay value and ensure that no heist is ever the same, and there should've been time-of-day and weather effects. The last thing I would've liked to see is a "Director" that adjusts the difficulty depending on how well the team is performing.
Anyway, this is just the tip of the iceberg of things I disliked about PD3. I could go on all day and I've forgotten more about what I don't like about PD3 than I can recall.
The servers are working so playing the game won't be a problem.
I'd like to hear your first hand feedback.
- Qol like server browser, chat, voice chat, etc... things been improved and widely avail in multiplayer games for decade now is not in this newest title.
- server quality is just... choke when it reach 4 digits of player count.
- progress method is *ss, i think people already talked about this long enough
- grindy and forced to play the way they want you to way or you will suffer
- buggy af, even in multiple of their paid promotion streams streamers was just laughing about all of them stuck in zipline motion sliding around the map
- skill tree is worse than previous title.
- they said you can upgrade to silver/gold edition b4 launch date, then remove that line from their website once it launched, bait and switch. (proven by multiple CC using waybackmachine website)
- pathetic post-launch support for a live service title even EA did it better (slightly)
the TL;DR is
if the previous 2 PD titles didn't exist, sure, this game wouldn't be this bad of a dumpster fire, imo.
however server quality and other multiplayer game Qol not existing is just inexcusable => feel rushed and unfinished
combine with the absurd PR they did with like royalty class event for content creators and promotion streams, this all feel like a scam to many people to sell as many copy as possible of a poorly done and mismanaged title.
"Yeah, it's a fun game! But I do not want to lobby hop for 2+ hours just to get 1 full lobby where players don't leave"
They need to add a lobby browser, filters, polish up a bunch of things - also add more content. Then, once all of that is done, they need to make a huge marketing campaign to remind people that this game exists.
Huge marketing campaign lol dude game is ded and you wanna promote a corpse, soon they can’t even afford to keep the lights on at their offices…
bait someone else, i've been in the baiting business when you were still wearing diapers!
And in the end it comes down to subjective taste.
But since there are several problems, it adds up to a game that is not enjoyable.
I'll just quote myself from another thread.
You will find more answers to your question in the quoted thread.

You sound like you still wear them, what’s your cost basis for the stock? Just so we can all point and laugh :)
