Apart from one(1) minor QoL feature, two free-reworked heists and one paid DLC - game received no meaningful updates, devs ignored all feedback and suggestions and been silent as much as humanly possible.
Supposedly they gonna gather a team of superhero devs who are gonna create a plan how to save a game somewhere in the future.
They can salvage the game, no doubts, bring it up to a playable level an get some of the players back. If they stop being stubborn and defend flawed systems, become more open and player-friendly...so many "if"
But to reach Payday 2 level...yeah, pretty much impossible without some inhumane effort.
And judging by their indiffirence during these 6 months - I doubt this will happen ever.
We also dont live in 2013 anymore. In 2013 people were far more willing to come back and give things a second chance. In 2013, 500 new game released on Steam, in 2023, 10,000 new games released on Steam.
Why would i give devs repeated chances to fix it when they wont even really acknowledge the issues. Even their current response is vague and meaningless.
Meanwhile i have Humble Bundle every month, and Christmas sale backlog, free games from Epic i still havnt gotten to, Amazon give-away's i havnt even installed yet, and every other company trying to give me free trails of their dumb subscriptions, Microsoft is relentless and gives away free subs for tons of other things you might buy.
Overkill/Starbreeze have no idea how much the world has changed around them. They need to be kissing players butts and giving out specifics or their next game will be DOA from pure Social media bombardment. Not like it will need it with their current track record, Raid, Walking Dead, etc.
Do they want to save it? They're supposed to tell us sometime this month.
